Walt Disney Studios has signed on to co-finance and co-produce Steven Spielberg‘s The BFG. Based on the Roald Dahl classic book, the movie has already casted Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Rebecca Hall and Penelope Wilton.

Now open at Downtown Disney, The BOATHOUSE: Great Food, Waterfront Dining, Dream Boats is the first of several new restaurants coming to The Landing, a new neighborhood that will be part of Disney Springs at Walt Disney World® Resort.
The BOATHOUSE is an upscale waterfront dining experience where guests can feast on fresh seafood, a raw bar, steaks and chops while enjoying a display of rare dream boats from the 1930s – 1950s.
And, if guests want more, they can purchase tickets for guided tours on The BOATHOUSE Amphicars, which launch from land and enter water with a splash, or The Venezia, a breathtaking 40-foot wooden Italian Water Taxi.
Plus, Harbor Master festivities take place throughout the day and evening. Guests can experience flag ceremonies and lively musical performances of beloved bugle songs. Inside, they can enjoy live entertainment featuring a variety of musical styles.

Doc McStuffins to Meet Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Beginning in May, Dottie “Doc” McStuffins will meet guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in a setting inspired by her playhouse clinic on the Emmy-nominated TV show, “Doc McStuffins,” airing on DisneyChannel and Disney Junior. Doc is a nurturing, six-year-old girl who can talk with the stuffed animal she cares for. Guests also can see Doc McStuffins in “Disney Junior – Live on Stage!” and spend time with her during breakfast and lunch at Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood & Vine, both at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Walt Disney Company Invests in Young Native American Leaders with a $250,000 Commitment to the American Indian College Fund
The American Indian College Fund (the College Fund) announced that The Walt Disney Company has committed $250,000 to create The Walt Disney Company American Indian College Fund Scholarship Program. The program will provide Native American and Alaska Native students who have financial need with multi-year support to attend tribal colleges and universities nationwide.
The donation, announced at the American Indian College Fund’s 25th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles today, will also support the “25 in 25” capital campaign to expand the College Fund’s student initiatives, including professional development, networking opportunities, internship programming and a new scholar and alumni program.

Brad Bird Has Begun Writing ‘Incredibles 2′
More than a year after the sequel was announced, “The Incredibles 2″ is finally chugging along. Writer-director Brad Bird, who was also behind Pixar’s “Ratatouille,” told NPR that the sequel is “percolating.”
