New Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant Coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Today, we’ve got some rootin’ tootin’ news for ya! There’s a brand-new table-service restaurant coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®. Upon entering Andy’s back yard, you are magically transformed to the size of a toy, surrounded by toys and playsets scattered throughout the area. And soon, they’ll discover that a new play area has been set up – and this time, it’s a rodeo! But of course, being Andy, it certainly isn’t a usual rodeo …

Using three cardboard boxes cut and taped together, Andy has created a new rodeo arena using some of his favorite toys, games, and play sets. And while some pieces are definitely western-themed, what makes this rodeo special is the broad assortment of toys that have been brought together to create a fun, colorful mashup-atmosphere that only a child could create.

Once inside, you will be surrounded by all of the rodeo festivities in-action as well as western town and train station play sets. And they just might spot some of their favorite Disney•Pixar characters scattered throughout the restaurant in the form of toys and game pieces including a toy version of Jessie riding on the back of a Trixie pull-toy and unique toy versions of Bo Peep and her sheep, all who appear to be performing in the rodeo together.

This immersive restaurant will surround you with a kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets, providing yet another unique, fun, family-friendly dining experience that could only be had in Toy Story Land. Stay tuned for more news on this yummy rodeo-themed restaurant. And in the meantime, be sure you check out Woody’s Lunch Box for delicious sandwiches, Lunch Box Tarts, and more!

Creating ‘Wonderful World of Animation’ for Disney’s Hollywood Studios

“Wonderful World of Animation,” the all-new cinematic nighttime experience debuting May 1, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, leverages state-of-the-art projection mapping technology and other effects to take you on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation.

The team at Disney Parks Live Entertainment has been working on the show for months and are now in the final stages of programming and preparation. Over the last couple weeks, the production team and creative designers, representing audio, video, lighting, music and special effects disciplines, have gone in after the park is closed for the day, fine-tuning everything to get it just right for the grand opening. Here’s a look behind the scenes.

“Wonderful World of Animation” begins with the one-and-only Mickey Mouse, as the park’s iconic Chinese Theater transforms into the black-and-white world of the classic short film, “Mickey’s Gala Premiere.” From there, the show bursts forth in full color, celebrating Mickey’s starring role in “Fantasia” as it launches into sequences filled with magic, family, adventure, romance, villainy and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from Disney and Pixar animated films, from “Coco” and “The Incredibles” to “Sleeping Beauty” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet.”

With nods to the vast library from Disney and Pixar Animation Studios’ long legacy, “Wonderful World of Animation” is the perfect complement to an exhilarating day of adventures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a great way to celebrate the park’s 30th anniversary.

Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Makes History with $1.2 Billion Global Debut

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has shattered records with an unprecedented estimated global debut of $1.209 billion, becoming the first film in history to surpass $1 billion in its opening weekend. The film reached the billion-dollar threshold in just five days, more than twice as fast as its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War, which held the record at 11 days. The film also set domestic and international records, earning an estimated $350 million domestically and $859 million internationally.

“Kevin Feige and the Marvel Studios team have continued to challenge notions of what is possible at the movie theater both in terms of storytelling and at the box office,” said Alan Horn, chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “Though Endgame is far from an end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these first 22 films constitute a sprawling achievement, and this weekend’s monumental success is a testament to the world they’ve envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world.”

“From the very beginning with Iron Man, all we’ve wanted to do was tell stories that brought these characters to life onscreen the way we’ve experienced them as fans of the comics,” said Kevin Feige, President, Marvel Studios. “That we’ve had so many other successes in this journey leading to this unbelievable result with Avengers: Endgame has been almost entirely due to the fans around the world who have supported us through it all. Our directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, and our writers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, really brought this story home, and I am also incredibly thankful for our cast and filmmakers from across the MCU and all who’ve worked so hard to make these films the best they can be, including the amazing teams at Marvel Studios and Disney. And of course, without Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, none of this would have been possible.”

Said directors Anthony and Joe Russo, “We poured our heart and soul into Avengers: Endgame, hoping to tell a story that would inspire audiences around the world. Our family of cast and crew felt honored to be entrusted with bringing the Infinity Saga to a close. To Kevin Feige, everyone at Disney and Marvel, and the incredible, global community of fans—thank you.”
