This all-new complimentary event, available exclusively to Disney Vacation Club Members and their Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, will take place this July and August as part of Membership Magic!
Heat up your summer vacation night with after-hours access to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon from 9:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., with early admission available beginning at 7 p.m. to Members and their Guests, on the following evenings:
– July 23, 2015
– July 28, 2015
– August 4, 2015
– August 11, 2015
Experience select Typhoon Lagoon attractions and many of the park’s fantastic water slides. Rock out to classic beach party tunes from the 60’s inspired Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2, participate in family fun activities like hula-hoop spinning and a limbo contest and enjoy delicious refreshments and treats.
Advanced reservations are required (and non-transferable) to attend and limited to Members staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, up to the number of Guests in their Resort accommodations during event dates. To make reservations, please have your resort reservation number available and call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 on the following dates:

What’s Happening | The Walt Disney Family Museum | July 2015
The Walt Disney Family Museum is pleased to announce our next exhibition, Tomorrowland: Walt’s Vision for Today, open July 22 through December 7, 2015. Curated by Academy Award®-winning director, writer, and producer Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Tomorrowland), this engaging, multimedia exhibition showcases Walt Disney as a technological innovator, science fiction storyteller, and futurologist by spotlighting his vision for Disneyland’s groundbreaking Tomorrowland and its complete and revolutionary 1967 rebuild.
Through animated sequences, musical compositions, sound bites, graphics, audiovisuals, vintage posters, and more, Tomorrowland will immerse visitors in the story of Walt’s hopes and foresight for the future.

Disney and Dalí: Architects of the Imagination
July 10, 2015–January 3, 2016
Guest-curated by filmmaker Ted Nicolaou, this extraordinary, immersive, and enriching experience tells the story of the unlikely alliance between two of the most renowned artists of the twentieth century: brilliantly eccentric Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dalí and American entertainment innovator Walt Disney. Presented through an interactive multimedia experience of original paintings, story sketches, conceptual artwork, objects, correspondences, archival film, photographs, and audio—many of which highlight work from Walt Disney Studios artists Mary Blair, Eyvind Earle, John Hench, Kay Nielsen, and more—this comprehensive exhibition showcases two vastly different iconic figures who were drawn to each other through their unique personalities, their mutual admiration, and their collaboration on the animated short Destino. Although the film was not completed during their lifetimes, the friendship between these two great men nevertheless endured.

Ted Nicolaou, guest curator of Disney and Dalí: Architects of the Imagination and producer of Dalí & Disney: A Date with Destino and Dave Bossert, Destino Producer, Creative Director, and Head of Special Projects at Walt Disney Animation Studios discuss the making of Destino. Destino began in 1945 as a collaborative project between Walt Disney, John Hench, and Spanish Surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. The animation features music written by Mexican songwriter Armando Dominguez, performed by Dora Luz.
The conversation will be followed by a reception featuring wine tasting of Spanish red varietals.

A Sensational Star-Spangled Celebration Set for Walt Disney World Resort Guests July 4
Guests can rock their patriotic Disney Side at Walt Disney World Resort on July 4 to celebrate Independence Day. With themed souvenirs, characters adorned in festive attire and breathtaking fireworks bursting in air, it is a magical celebration to honor America’s birthday.
Patriotic firework displays light up the sky the evenings of July 4:
- A 14-minute fireworks spectacular rockets into the air above Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom both nights at 9 p.m. with “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.”
- At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party leads up to a “Rockin’ Fourth of July Celebration” fireworks show, a pyrotechnic, rock ‘n roll trip across America, where the DJ kicks things off at 5:45 p.m. and keeps the party going until fireworks time at 10:15 p.m.
- Epcot’s awe-inspiring nighttime spectacular “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth” features a special finale with a bit of red, white and blue flare at 10 p.m. on July 4.
Epcot features a few additional fanfare festivities on July 4 to add to the flag-waving spirit of the holiday. The Voices of Liberty perform a Fourth of July concert at the America Gardens Theatre at 12:30, 1:45, and 3 p.m., and in the American Adventure pavilion at 4:15 and 5 p.m. The celebration proceeds on a high note with the Sounds Like Summer concert series onstage at the America Gardens Theatre featuring “Don’t Look Back – A Boston Tribute Band,” with performances at 5:15, 6:30, 7:45 and 9 p.m. Special patriotic character greetings also are available at various times throughout the day.
In addition to the magnificent fireworks spectacular on July 4, Magic Kingdom guests can enjoy the glowing magic of the “Main Street Electrical Parade” at 10:15 p.m. and 12:15 a.m., complete with a special tribute to America. Guests can also celebrate the occasion with their favorite Disney characters at the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. on July 4.
Independence Day festivities cannot be complete without a few star-spangled souvenirs, including USA shirts, festive trading pins and a patriotic MagicBand. A few festive treats also will be available in various merchandise locations.
The Fourth of July fun continues at the Walt Disney World resort hotels. They will host patriotic poolside activities throughout the day for resort guests, including Fourth of July-themed crafts and games, pool parties and movies under the stars at select resorts.
New in 2015, the Disney Parks Blog is giving guests the opportunity to celebrate the magic of Independence Day at Walt Disney World Resort from home with a live stream of the Magic Kingdom fireworks spectacular, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” Guests can visit DisneyParksBlog.com for more information and to view the live stream fireworks show at 9 p.m. EST on July 4, 2015.

ABC’s ‘The Chew’ to Broadcast from The 20th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
ABC’s “The Chew” is leaving its Manhattan studio for the first time in the show’s history to broadcast from the 20th annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. The Emmy-Award® Winning lifestyle series will tape five shows with co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz on Oct. 7, 8 & 9 to air during the week of Oct. 12 -16 on “The Chew.”
“We are beyond excited to be invited to celebrate such an important food event,” said Gordon Elliott, executive producer of “The Chew.” “What a great way to kick off our fifth season. We are planning a terrific series of shows for our viewers and live audience that will use every available piece of magic the park and our show can muster. Stay tuned!” he added.
“The Chew” shows from Epcot will showcase festival highlights as well as food and beverage from “around the world” of Walt Disney World Resort. From stellar dining experiences to immersive dining that transports guests into cherished stories, “The Chew” will explore Disney Parks restaurants that offer innovative, fun and healthful dining choices and share some of their favorites.
In addition, “The Chew” will be featured in two themed marketplaces located at the new Next Eats area of Future World – the first time in the festival’s history that new culinary experiences have expanded into the Future World area of the park.
At the new Sustainable Chew Marketplace, festivalgoers can enjoy three delicious dishes inspired by “The Chew” co-hosts. From savory pork spareribs with red wine and fennel with cheesy mascarpone grits and ricotta & zucchini ravioli with tomato sauce to vanilla panna cotta with fresh figs and pistachio brittle, “The Chew” has something for everyone during this milestone 20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival celebration. The eco-home-inspired marketplace will offer guests a chance to learn more about how food is grown and the importance of food sustainability. Herbs and vegetables harvested from The Land pavilion greenhouses at Epcot will flavor the marketplace dishes.
A second new Future World marketplace at Next Eats will feature the Chew Lab, where Disney chefs are collaborating with “The Chew,” to create a cutting-edge marketplace inspired by food-science labs and the hottest culinary tech trends.
