2017 Radio Disney Music Awards: complete list of nominees

The nominees for the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards are here, and ABC News has a sneak peek.

At 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET, Radio Disney’s Alli Simpson and Morgan Tompkins will host a livestream on Radio Disney’s social networks with appearances by Noah Cyrus, Jordan Fisher, Sofia Carson and Jiffpom.

Voting begins at 4 p.m. PT, and will end on April 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

The Radio Disney Awards will air on April 30 on the Disney Channel.

Radio Disney has officially announced five fan-favorite stars to host its 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards: Grammy-nominated country singer Kelsea Ballerini, Hamilton star Jordan Fisher, Descendants actress Sofia Carson, Radio Disney host and singer Alex Aiono, and Stuck in the Middle star Jenna Ortega are scheduled to host the fifth annual event.

Disney poised to make virtual reality history at the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards

Virtual reality is not killing the television star, but it sure is bringing them a lot closer to fans. Today, Radio Disney announced it has partnered with virtual reality company IM360 to live-stream the red carpet of the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards in virtual reality before its live broadcast.

2016 Radio Disney Music Awards to Be Sponsored by Cheddar Goldfish® Crackers, KRAFT® Macaroni and Cheese Shapes, and Star Stable

Disney Media Sales and Marketing will connect its clients with music’s biggest event for families — the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA) — through sponsorships spanning television, digital, mobile and social platforms. The brands sponsoring both the Disney Channel and Disney XD premiere event telecasts are: BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, Cheddar Goldfish® crackers, KRAFT® Macaroni and Cheese Shapes, and Star Stable.

Cheddar Goldfish® crackers – presenting sponsor of the custom “RDMA Backstage Bash Sweepstakes” with a Grand Prize of a trip to Los Angeles for one lucky winner and three guests to enjoy backstage access to the VIP lounge powered by Cheddar Goldfish® crackers and VIP seats during the RDMA show. The 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards to be Broadcast on May 1 on Disney Channel

The 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA), music’s biggest event for families, is set for SATURDAY, APRIL 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Now in its fourth year, the RDMA will feature even more performances, combining music’s biggest with tomorrow’s rising stars. The special two-hour telecast, “Disney Channel Presents the Radio Disney Music Awards,” will be presented SUNDAY, MAY 1 (7:00-9:00 p.m. EST) on Disney Channel in the U.S. and thereafter, in 159 countries, an increase of more than 250 percent from last year’s 44 countries. Highlights will also be available on Radio Disney, the Radio Disney App, WATCH Disney Channel and RadioDisney.com.

National sponsors for the RDMA telecast currently include Cheddar Goldfish® crackers, BAND-AID® Brand Bandages and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Shapes.

Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager of Den of Thieves (“MTV Video Music Awards,” “American Idol,” “CMT Music Awards”) will executive produce the event for the second consecutive year.

Radio Disney “ARDY” statuettes, as voted on by fans around the world, will be awarded in several categories including the new Radio Disney Country Favorite Artist and Radio Disney Country Favorite Song categories.

Last year, over 101 million votes were tallied on the Radio Disney app and social platforms, including more than 5 million votes from international fans. The telecast delivered 4.3 million Total Viewers. Compared to all other televised music awards shows of 2015, the Radio Disney Music Awards ranked #1 among Kids 6-11, defeating the “Grammy Awards” by 38 percent in the key target demographic (1.1 million vs. 800,000). The RDMA telecast also handily beat the “Billboard Music Awards” by 46% in Kids 2-11 (1.2 million vs. 822,000), 101 percent in Kids 6-11 (1.1 million vs. 546,000) and 15 percent in Tweens 9-14 (988,000 vs. 856,000).

The music-focused special was the day’s most social entertainment program on Twitter with a unique audience of 1.5 million users generating 6.1 million impressions and delivered the highest number of unique visitors to date on the Radio Disney app.

Radio Disney Launches on iHeartRadio

Radio Disney, the only 24-hour radio network devoted to families, and iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia’s free all-in-one streaming music and live digital radio service, today announced that Radio Disney is now available to even more listeners via iHeartRadio (iHeartRadio.com/Disney) and everywhere its app is available.

Radio Disney’s programming will now be accessible 24/7, streaming to millions of iHeartRadio listeners across the U.S. Programming features include Radio Disney ‘Insider’, Radio Disney ‘Take Over’, Radio Disney’s ‘Top 30’, Radio Disney’s ‘Saturday Night Party’, ‘The Alli Simpson Show’, and a variety of on-air talent-hosted programming. As part of this new collaboration, Radio Disney and iHeartRadio will support cross platform promotion opportunities and develop joint broadcast/digital content initiatives.
