Everything Walt Disney World Is Planning To Reopen In 2021 (So Far), And What It Means For The Parks

Walt Disney World spent a good portion of 2020 closed, and while it is currently running at a fraction of its maximum capacity, and likely will continue to do so through most, if not all, of 2021, the theme park resort has announced that several different parts of Disney World, from hotels to water parks, that have remained closed to this point, will be dusting off the cobwebs and getting ready to open throughout the first half of 2021.

‘Ratatouille’ Fan Gets Sneak Peek of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT

You may know the story of Emily Jacobsen, who is so excited for the debut of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT that she wrote a song about Remy and posted a video online of herself singing it. The clip quickly became a worldwide social media phenomenon, inspiring others to share their love for the “Little Chef” through music.

To celebrate her joy and creativity, we decided to add a little extra magic to Emily’s recent Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Earlier this week, she was whisked backstage at EPCOT for a surprise sneak peek of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which will debut in 2021 in the newly reimagined France pavilion. Based on Disney and Pixar’s hit film “Ratatouille,” the family-friendly attraction will invite Guests to shrink down to the size of a rat for a culinary adventure with Remy, racing across Gusteau’s kitchen floor. In addition to her “first look” at the new attraction, Emily got a “first wear” of the special ear headband inspired by Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The headband will be available for purchase in 2021.

Check out the video for a glimpse of Emily’s magical experience – from the surprise news of her sneak peek to her tour through the attraction with Disney Imagineers.

We hope you share in Emily’s excitement for the debut of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure next year!

11 new Disney World attractions coming in 2021 — and what visits may be like next year

It’s fair to say that 2020 was not the year the Walt Disney Company (or any of us) planned for — or wanted. It would be overplayed to say it was an “unprecedented year for Disney”, but, it most certainly was. Disney theme parks had faced a limited number of very temporary closures before 2020 for hurricanes, in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 and the like, but they hadn’t experienced anything even remotely on this scale and magnitude.

Disney Cruise Line Unwraps Never-Before-Seen Video of its Next Ship, the Disney Wish

The Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration unpacked a sleigh-full of Disney magic, including a brand-new video of the Disney Wish, which sets sail in summer 2022.

This never-before-seen digital clip showcases new details of the dazzling Grand Hall and a first look at the stunning character statue at the base of the grand staircase, an iconic Disney princess whose faith in her dreams has inspired generations to believe in the power of their own.

Who is she?

Inspired by the beauty of a fairytale castle, the Grand Hall makes a bold welcoming statement, setting the tone for an enchanted family vacation from the moment your Clients step onboard the Disney Wish. It is an idyllic setting for Cinderella, whose timeless story is the perfect example of magic transforming wishes into dreams and dreams into reality – very fitting for a vessel named the Disney Wish, don’t you think?

The Disney Wish is the first of three new ships joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet through 2025. All three ships will be powered by liquefied natural gas and, at approximately 144,000 gross tons and 1,250 guest staterooms, will be slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
