More Details Revealed for “Disney After Hours Boo Bash”!

Fantasy reigns at Magic KingdomPark, especially as we get ready for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50thanniversary in October and “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” Case in point, we recently announced the park will soon be the ghost host for “Disney After Hours Boo Bash” on 23 select nights later this year, starting Aug. 10 and continuing through Oct. 31 from 9 p.m. to midnight.* We are thrilled to share some more frightfully fun details on what Guests will experience during this limited-capacity separately ticketed event:

  • Special cavalcades will pop up throughout the night including “Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade,” with Mickey Mouse and friends dressed up for the occasion. In the “Disney Villains Halloween Cavalcade,” villains will take to the street and celebrate their favorite time of the year. “Jack’s Nightmare Cavalcade” will feature Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie riding down the parade path to “This is Halloween,” and last, but definitely not least (we would never say that about her!), Maleficent will also make an appearance in the form of a fire-breathing dragon.
  • Some favorite friends will be lurking about – from the lovely Miss Carlotta at the Haunted Mansion to Goofy and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their Halloween best, with other surprise characters popping up across the park, too. Guests can even stop and listen to the Cadaver Dans during their special comeback (from the dead) performance.
  • Select complimentary snacks like ice cream novelties and popcorn, along with select beverages, are included in the cost of the event.
  • After the park closes to day guests, enjoy less time waiting in line for more than 20 attractions including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion attraction, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain and more.
  • A variety of specialty food and drinks will be available for purchase including an Apple Ginger Dale frozen drink (frozen apple cider mixed with ginger ale and topped with whipped cream) and a Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake.)**
  • Disney PhotoPass will also be available to takemagical and spooky shots throughout the night.
  • “Disney After Hours Boo Bash” tickets will grant admission to Magic Kingdom park as early as 7 p.m., giving Guests time to enjoy even more of their favorite Magic Kingdomhaunts before the event begins. These dated event tickets do not require an additional day theme park ticket or Disney Park Pass theme park reservation.

As we shared previously, all foolish mortals can dress in costume for the event and Guests can get their fill of Halloween candy while trick-or-treating around the park. Costume masks are not permitted for adults; they can only be worn by children under 14. As a reminder, information on attractions, dining, experiences and other offerings currently available can be found on DisneyTravelTradeInfo.com/WDW, as well as the Know Before You Go section on the Disney Travel Agents website. More Exciting Dining Options to Return to Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort has even more reasons to get excited about visiting in May and beyond! Guests will be able to see beloved characters when Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort reintroduces an all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner starring the Fab Five. Over at the EPCOT Resort area, Guests will be able to once again enjoy seaside meals when Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort reopens, and, get their taste buds ready for the re-opening of Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Chef Mickey’s Dinner

Starting May 16, Chef Mickey’s will offer an all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style dinner that will include “no touch” appearances like snapping a selfie or waving hello as Mickey and some of his favorite pals make surprising appearances in each of the dining rooms. Similar to other character dining locations, Guests will take home a souvenir with character signatures and colorful artwork.

Seeing favorite characters isn’t all Guests can look forward to at Chef Mickey’s! The dinner menu will include items for the whole family, like starters of “Chef Mickey’s Caesar,” citrus-poached shrimp salad, and assorted breads; main courses of gnocchi, roasted garlic potato Gratin, plant-based faro wheat fried rice, prime rib, roasted turkey, and salmon; and an assortment of sweets to top off the meal. Little ones can enjoy mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, turkey corn dog nuggets, and more!

Cape May Café

If Guests ever dream of escaping to the beach and enjoying all the delicious food of an oceanside town, they’ll be happy that Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort reopens on May 18! The New England-style restaurant is a perfect location to refuel before and after a day of adventure at Walt Disney World

Guests returning to Cape May Café will find old favorites and new changes, along with its signature service and quality. The restaurant will serve breakfast and dinner, but Minnie’s Beach Bash Character Breakfast and the Seafood-and-More Dinner Buffet will not return at reopening.

That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of treats in store! The all-you-care-to enjoy family-style breakfast menu will feature popular staples like pastries (including the layered crispy, cream-filled “Lobster Tail”), omelets, and Mickey and Minnie waffles. Highlights from dinner will include house-made Parker House rolls and corn bread, a seafood boil with a variety of fresh seafood, The Turf Platter with steak and chicken, and – my personal favorite – lobster mac and cheese.

Bookings for Cape May Café and dinnertime at Chef Mickey’s open on May 7.

Tusker House Restaurant

The Guest-favorite character dining location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Tusker House Restaurant, will reopen this summer! During the modified character experience, Guests will enjoy delicious family-style entrees inspired by the flavors of Africa and can snap photos of Donald Duck and friends, dressed in their safari best as they promenade through the restaurant. We will share more about the menu and reservation information soon.

We look forward to welcoming Guests back to Cape May Café and for dinnertime at Chef Mickey’s later this month. And we can’t wait for Guests to savor the delicious African-inspired fare at Tusker House Restaurant in the coming months. Stay tuned for more scrumptious details and foodie news in the coming weeks!

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Launches in 2022 at Walt Disney World Resort

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will take Guests to a galaxy far, far away for an all-immersive, two-night vacation experience that goes beyond anything Disney has ever created before. What exactly does “all-immersive” mean? Well, in honor of May the 4th, here’s a little hint …

Not sure if what you just saw is actually what you just saw? Maybe you should watch it one more time. Or 10.

Yes, that’s a new type of lightsaber Rey is holding in her hand, created by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development. Guests who experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the first to see it in action – along with so much more – starting in 2022 when this amazing new two-night adventure debuts. When Guests watch that lightsaber activate right before their eyes it will be just one of the countless ways that, from the moment they arrive to the moment they depart, they’ll be plunged into a Star Wars story where their decisions and actions – or even the casual conversations they may have – determine how their personal journey unfolds.

Guests’ adventure begins at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser terminal at Walt Disney World, where Guests will gather with fellow passengers before departing for their intergalactic destination. Guests will soon enter a special Launch Pod and leave their world behind as they make a hyperspace jump to a galaxy far, far away.

Guests will watch through viewports as they approach the massive and magnificent Halcyon starcruiser, which will be their home for the next two nights. For a limited time, Disney’s Hollywood Studios Guests can now see a model of the ship on display inside Walt Disney Presents – another special May the 4th surprise!

When the Launch Pod’s airlock slides open, Guests will take their first step into a galaxy far, far away as Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser comes to life all around them. During their stay aboard this glamorous ship, Guests may interact with an eclectic group of characters both familiar and new, possibly including the starcruiser’s strong and charismatic captain, a plucky ship’s mechanic and a galactic superstar who can captivate an entire room with the crook of one jewel-encrusted purple Twi’lek finger.

This singing sensation will be a featured performer during one of the exquisite dining experiences inside the Crown of Corellia Dining Room, which you can see in this artist concept rendering we’re sharing today for the first time. The enticing supper club’s name is an homage to Corellia, the planet known galaxy-wide for its shipyards that gave us not only the Halcyon starcruiser, but also the Millennium Falcon. The dining room is a bright and welcoming hall that will offer breakfast and lunch to passengers before transitioning each evening into a lavish multi-course menu of both otherworldly and familiar origins.

As the journey continues, Guests will have the opportunity to train in the ancient ways of the lightsaber, learn more about the inner workings of the Halcyon starcruiser and even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu to further their adventure inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This isn’t storytelling – it’s storyliving, where Guests will see, feel and live Star Wars in a whole new way.

We’ll have much more to share about Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in the future as we look forward to its 2022 debut; you can always visit starwarsgalacticstarcruiser.com for more details, and sign up there to receive updates.

And since it’s May the 4th, let’s check out a few other Star Wars happenings at Walt Disney World in honor of this special day.

Star Wars Galactic Outpost at Disney Springs and select locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are showcasing new merchandise available starting today (while supplies last), including apparel featuring the new Disney+ series “The Bad Batch” (also debuting today). There are also new items from the Rainbow Star Wars Collection, as well as new Star Tours-inspired Disney Parks Wishables including R2-D2 and C-3PO.

Today and tomorrow, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is offering special Star Wars-themed desserts and beverages available at select locations throughout the park, including the new Dark Side Chocolate Creation and returning favorite Lightsaber Churro. Also, through tomorrow, Disney Springswill offer the Grogu Mini Dome Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie and the Millennium Falcon Chocolate Pop at The Ganachery.

As you can see, the Force is strong with us here at Walt Disney WorldResort. So however you’re celebrating Star Wars today … May the 4th be with you!
