Earlier this year, we announced an all-new dining adventure coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park select nights beginning July 24, 2019.  Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night is a family-friendly progressive dining experience drawing inspiration from the many facets of African cultures. In addition to celebrating the beloved story of “The Lion King,” this experience honors some of the most majestic and endangered African animals through delicious flavors, fun activities, live music, and appreciation for animal conservation.

We’re excited to share that one of these fun activities is a Kilimanjaro Safaris Virtual Realty experience. After enjoying a welcome reception at the train station in Harambe, you will hop on the train and journey to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Here they’ll have the opportunity to try out a virtual reality 360-degree safari experience like they’ve never seen before, one that is only available exclusively during Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night! “Join our Pride” and get up close and personal with the sights and sounds of Pride Rock, coming face-to-face with our amazing host, the African lions. 

In addition to virtual reality, Guests will be able to indulge on a culinary expedition of food and beverages throughout the entire experience. When they begin their journey at the Harambe Train Station, you will enjoy a welcome reception featuring meat pies, Durban chips and dip, and a hand-selected array of meats and cheeses as well as Harambellini, a specialty beverage featuring sparkling South African wine blended with a bright burst of passion fruit, orange, and guava juices. And for the kiddos, they can nibble on cheese, fruit, and Tofaa (chocolate caramel-dipped green apples). 

During the welcome reception, you will receive a boarding pass that allows them to hop on the train and head to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where fun activities (including the VR experience and character greetings with familiar friends Timon and Rafiki) and more bites and refreshments await them. They can snack on spiced crisp plaintains, South African oat and coconut bars, and Sundowner Safari Mix with spiced nuts and dried fruit. Kids can enjoy seasonal fruit and Trail Mix Bites with granola, chocolate chips, raisins, and honey. For the adults, the specialty beverages featured here are the Chief’s Shandy (Tusker beer blended with lemonade), and Wanjohi’s Dawa, a refreshing blend of tequila, pineapple, mango, and Ancho chile. 

To conclude the evening, you will hop back on the train to head back to their final destination: Harambe Market. Here they’ll partake in a delicious dinner while enjoying upbeat music from African musicians, a dance party, and captivating storytelling. On the menu is an array of hearty dishes and yummy desserts inspired by the five featured African animals. Around the marketplace, they’ll find stations representing each of the animals and a selection of additional offerings in the courtyard.

Menus and options are subject to change, but at each station, you will learn a little bit about each of the Big Five animals. Children are invited to choose their favorite Big Five animal charm and learn more about them while creating their very own bracelet or necklace. 

Circle of Flavors: Harambe at Night begins on July 24, 2019 on select nights from 6-9 p.m. for a limited time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. It’s time to make new memories and hop aboard Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind in Disney California Adventure® Park. Pixar Pier’s latest attraction is a whimsical, family-friendly delight!

Inspired by the hit Disney and Pixar film “Inside Out,” Emotional Whirlwind takes you on a sense-ational spin while aboard one of eight Memory Movers. Help Riley’s Emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear—sort through memories being collected.

If you didn’t think summer at the Disneyland® Resort could get any better, you may want to sit down for this. An all-time fan favorite, a “spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination” is coming back to Disneyland Park for a limited-time encore engagement! That’s right, the Main Street Electrical Parade, along with its half-million sparkling lights and “electro-syntho-magnetic musical sounds” will once again create magical summer memories for Guests of all ages.

We’re excited to share that a new fast-casual barbecue restaurant featuring craft brews on tap will debut at The American Adventure pavilion in Epcot® later this year. 

Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will take the place of Liberty Inn, which will close July 8 to make way for this mouth-watering experience in World Showcase. 

The new location will be a modern barbecue smokehouse, with all the accompanying sights, sounds, smells and flavors you will love – including a large smoker preparing fine food every day right on the pavilion’s promenade. There will also be a redesigned patio for you to enjoy.

The Fourth of July is one week away and the parks at Walt Disney World® Resort are gearing up to celebrate our nation’s birthday with entertainment, scrumptious treats and patriotic pageantry!  If you are joining us, we have some highlights and tips on how to make their Independence Day extra magical.  

Magic Kingdom® Park – “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will offer booming fireworks orchestrated to patriotic melodies at Magic Kingdom Park on both July 3 and July 4 at 9:15 p.m. Here’s more entertainment planned at Magic Kingdom Park: 

• A fuzzy cast of Muppets – Miss Piggy, Kermit, Fozzie Bear and friends will reenact famous moments in American history in a whimsical way during “The Muppets Present … Great Moments in History.” The live show is performed several times daily near the Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square.
• You can dance the night away with DJs spinning tunes at a Hoedown Throwdown in Frontierland and an out-of-this-world Galactic Gathering in Tomorrowland. 

Epcot® –   “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” will end its nearly 20-year run on Sept. 30, 2019. So this will be the last chance to experience the patriotic Fourth of July grand finale of this beloved nighttime spectacular. “The Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks extravaganza will begin immediately following the 9 p.m. “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” display.  Here’s more entertainment planned at Epcot: 

• The Voices of Liberty will perform great American tunes during a Fourth of July concert on the America Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. on July 4. The group also will perform in the rotunda inside The American Adventure pavilion at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
• Your Clients can meet favorite Disney characters donning their “Spirit of 76” patriotic attire at The American Adventure throughout the day on July 4.
• Guests can also indulge in themed eats and sips honoring Independence Day throughout the park – everything from patriotic cupcakes and special dining packages to red, white, and blue sangria and a Boom Berry Lemonade.

There will also be special Fourth of July decor at Disney Springs® and specialty Food and Beverage items at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® and at select Walt Disney World® Resorts.  

Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Justice League), “Gotham” stars Ben McKenzie, Morena Baccarin and Drew Powell, Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, “Stranger Things”),Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” “Barry”), Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas), Daniel Cudmore (X-Men, The Twilight Saga), George Wendt (“Cheers”), Katrina Law(“Arrow,” “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”) and David Giuntoli (“Grimm,” “A Million Little Things”) are among the early wave of celebrities scheduled to attend the 22nd annual Wizard World Chicago, August 22-25 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. 

Momoa will attend on Sunday, August 25; McKenzie, Baccarin and Wendt are scheduled to attend Friday through Sunday, August 23-25; Elwes, Sarandon, Giuntoli and Law will appear on Saturday and Sunday only; Winkler is set to attend all four days.
