Are you ready to join the Resistance and battle the First Order? The time has come! With Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening tomorrow, Jan. 17, at the Disneyland Resort®, now is the time to uncover new specialty bites and unique merchandise offerings in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Here’s what’s coming for those brave enough to take on Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. 

Traveling to space can be a chilling experience. Starting on Jan. 17, you can stop by Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and Ronto Roasters for a warm cup of Black Spire Hot Chocolate topped with shimmering whipped cream. If the Force guides you to try something cooler, then they can head to the Milk Stand for Blue Milk and Green Milk. While there, they can taste the new Toydaria Swirl. Their favorite Green Milk is taking on a new mission with swirls of savory chili lime seasoning and mango jelly—a refreshing alternative. 

Lastly, a day spent on Batuu would not be complete without trying the new Galma Garlic Puffed Cheese Chips. You can try this intergalactic delight at any of the Jat Kaa’s Coolers located throughout the Black Spire Outpost. And don’t forget, you can skip the line and order in advance with mobile ordering on the Disneyland app.* Mobile ordering is available for Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo, Ronto Roasters and the Milk Stand.

You can show that they’re #ResistanceReady with merchandise inspired by Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The cosmic collection includes tees, a tumbler, a baseball cap and an exclusive trading pin. Any member of the Resistance will notice the iconic starbird symbol proudly displayed on these items.

If you are inclined to support the First Order with their mission to win the hearts and minds of locals within Batuu, the First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle Play Set is for them. The play set features a First Order transport with its own R5-series astromech droid and can be found at First Order Cargo.

Disney H2O Glow Nights are returning to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon® for a third season! Inspired by the popular Toy Story Toon, “Partysaurus Rex,” this exclusive after-hours party would make a perfect addition to your Walt Disney World vacation this summer. Tickets for 2020 dates are on sale now!

From meeting favorite Toy Story 4 characters to trying specially themed food and beverage menu items, there is so much for you to do and see at Disney H2O Glow Nights. You can show off your dance moves during a high-energy DJ-hosted dance party, shop for exclusive event merchandise, enjoy Typhoon Lagoon’s attractions with shorter wait times and more. They will also receive a festive glow wristband upon their arrival! 

Disney H2O Glow Nights will take place between 8 – 11 p.m. on select nights from May 27 to August 29, 2020. Guests attending the party can enter Typhoon Lagoon as early as 6 p.m. on event nights. 

Disney H2O Glow Nights tickets start at $65 for adults (plus tax) and $60 for children ages 3-9 (plus tax) in advance. On event days, tickets are $75 for adults (plus tax) and $70 for children (plus tax) at the gate, if available.

The brand will also feature a wide selection of beads, bangles, charm bracelets and colorful stackable accent pieces personalization options like names, monograms, and favorite quotes. “We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this special resort location that echoes everything that inspires us to dream,” said boutique founder, Jill Donovan.

The store is set to open for a limited time in the coming weeks and will be located across from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. 

As every good Disney superfan knows, no dining experience is complete without some solid Mickey kitchenware. Well, Disney just dropped some new utensils and bakeware and they’re just as fun as you’d hope.

Guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort will encounter plenty of characters from around the galaxy—from members of the First Order and the Resistance, to cosmic creatures and droids, like R2-D2. From a climactic battle between the Resistance and the First Order, to an authentic Star Wars cantina on the Outer Rim of the galaxy, to exotic creatures, military encampments and daring missions aboard the Millennium Falcon, guests will find plenty of stories to explore as they live their own adventures inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park in California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.

By the Numbers

• Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge spans more than 14 acres, making these the largest single-themed lands in Disney Parks history.
• More than a dozen venues fill the lands, including Resistance and First Order encampments, a spaceport and a bustling market.
• Two attractions entice guests to live their own Star Wars adventures – Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (opening Jan. 17, 2020, at Disneyland Park).
• When guests enter the hangar bay of a Star Destroyer as part of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, 50 First Order Stormtroopers are waiting to greet them. ^Ϯ
• There are three entrances into the new land at Disneyland Park, and two at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (otherwise, the lands are nearly identical).
• The Millennium Falcon docked in the Black Spire Outpost Spaceport measures more than 100 feet long.
• Among the ancient-looking spires across the lands, the tallest is more than 130 feet high.

• More than 7,000 props were created for each land.
• Nine different retail locations in the lands offer nearly 700 unique items, ideal for those looking to take a memory of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge home with them.
• There are more than 120,000 possible combinations for constructing a lightsaber using all the available pieces in Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers.*
• There are nearly 280,000 possible combinations for constructing an R-series or BB-series astromech droid using all the available pieces in the Droid Depot.**
• Five locations within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge offer guests a chance to purchase food and drinks. The lands’ menus feature more than 50 distinct, out-of-this-world items.

Did You Know?

• Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge marks the first time a full-size, 100% complete Millennium Falcon has ever been built.
• The chess-type game played on the table in the Millennium Falcon main hold and lounge is called Dejarik; guests can sit at the table inside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and the game is available for purchase in the Toydarian Toymaker marketplace stall.
• At Black Spire Outpost, the droid in charge of music at the local watering hole, Oga’s Cantina,*** is DJ R-3X, the former Starspeeder 3000 pilot from Star Tours.
• For the soundtrack inside Oga’s Cantina,*** Walt Disney Imagineering commissioned musicians and composers from around the world to craft original music for a galactic playlist.
• Kowakian Monkey-Lizards and Porgs are among the “critters” guests will find at the Creature Stall in the marketplace. These are just a few of the many items guests may purchase during their visit.
• Academy Award-winning® composer John Williams created an all-new suite of themes written especially for the lands and their attractions.

• Actors from the current Star Wars film trilogy reprise their roles for new scenes and dialogue in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, including Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux).^Ϯ
• Some scenes for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance were produced at the same time as the current Star Wars film trilogy, so Disney was able to leverage the production talent and resources from the feature films. One notable example is a motion-base set used to capture actor Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron flying his X-wing starfighter.^Ϯ

Development Timeline

• The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm Ltd. in 2012.
• Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been in development since 2014.
• Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced Star Wars-themed lands would open at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios while at the D23 Expo on Aug. 15, 2015.
