NIGHT OF JOY 2016 AT WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT OFFERS MORE MUSIC, SPIRIT AND FUN!

The next generation of Night of Joy at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is just about a month away. And, as we shared a few months ago, this year Night of Joy at Walt Disney World Resort is enhancing its offerings, with an amazing lineup featuring eighteen great artists in Contemporary Christian Music.

And since Night of Joy is taking place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, we’re adding more spirit with our “Fields of Joy.” Guests can come on down to our premier sports fields and play a fast-paced game of 4v4 soccer, kick a field goal, clock their pitching arm, showcase their free throw skills and more. Plus, they can tempt their taste buds with a variety of food trucks to satisfy any big league appetite.

In addition to more music and more spirit, we are infusing more fun by adding Christian Comedians to the line-up on both nights. We’re also and introducing FanFest at Jostens Center, a fun, interactive area including video games, 60 second challenges, Imagination Playground and oversized versions of popular games such as foosball, Connect Four and chess.

Plus, for the first time at Night of Joy, exclusive merchandise from many of the artists appearing each night will be available in the Jostens Center.

To top it all off, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with some other Disney friends, will be on hand to meet Guests from 5-11 p.m. each night.

And, on Saturday night, Guests can enjoy a special opportunity to participate in multiple question and answers sessions with some of the top artists appearing at the event.

As a reminder, the following ticket options are available:

  • A single-night, concert only ticket for Friday, Sept. 9 – $39 plus tax (in advance); $45 the day of the show (if available).
  • A single-night concert and one-day Disney theme park ticket (valid for one of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks) for Saturday, Sept. 10 – $99 plus tax (in advance); $114 plus tax the day of the show (if available).*

Inside Theme Park Connection, the Treasure Trove Disney Guests Rarely See

There’s more than one Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Nineteen miles from where families pose for Christmas cards with Mickey and enjoy the fireworks bathing Cinderella castle in light sits a nondescript warehouse, nearly 17,000 feet big, packed with just as much Disney magic. It’s part safety deposit box, part archive, part souvenir shop — and all of it is open to the public.

Walt Disney World Fun Facts – Resorts

RESORTS

Strings ‘n Things . . . Disney’s only full-time harpist entertains diners at Victoria & Albert’s, a grand dining experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Big Gulp
. . . It would take more than 20 million 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola to fill one of the humongous Coke cups at Home Run Hotel in Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

Tennis Anyone? . . . It would take nearly 9.5 million tennis balls to fill one of the tennis ball cans at Center Court Hotel in Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. That’s enough to stretch from Walt Disney World Resort to Key West.

World’s Largest . . . Stormalong Bay, Disney’s Beach Club Resort swimming area, holds 750,000 gallons of water, making it the largest sand-bottom pool in the world.

Five-Legged Goat . . . The mosaic mural in the fourth-floor lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort was created in 1971 with 1,800 one-square-foot tiles and took 18 months to construct. Look closely: there’s a five-legged goat facing the monorail track.

Music to Your Eyes . . . The musical notes across the registration desk at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter play out the first verse of “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

Big Wheel Fit For a Big Kid . . . The giant Big Wheel in the 1970s courtyard of Disney’s Pop Century Resort can “accommodate” a child rider who weighs up to 877 pounds (according to the “recommended child weight” sticker affixed to the gigantic toy).

Room Roulette . . . If you wanted to stay in all of the guest rooms in all of the hotels and resorts currently open on Walt Disney World property, (at a rate of one per night) it would take decades.

WATCH NEW TRAILER- Disney’s ‘Moana’ “Light The Torch” TV Spot

Light the torch, find your way, dive right in. 🌊🌊🌊Watch a sneak peek of Disney’s Moana and see it in 3D this Thanksgiving!

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
