Super Bowl Hero James White Marks a 30-Year Tradition in Gala “Going to Disney World” Parade Monday at the Magic Kingdom

It was 1987 when the winning quarterback in Super Bowl XXI began a tradition of going to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate. That would carve out a place synonymous with glory and achievement in sports and other human endeavor.

NFL Super Bowl star running back James White starred in a milestone Disney moment Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, Ð "going to Disney World" in a celebration parade down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. White, who helped rally his team to a dramatic 34-28 overtime win over Atlanta in Super Bowl LI, continues a Disney tradition dating to 1987. White turned in an electrifying performance Sunday, scoring three touchdowns in the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. On Monday, White shared a float with Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters in a high-energy parade complete with confetti. Thirty years later, that same honor fell to running back James White, a hero of Super Bowl LI in Houston. White caught one touchdown pass and rushed for two others – including the game-winner in overtime – to help rally his team to an epic, come-from-behind 34-28 victory over Atlanta to capture the NFL Championship.

For his on-field heroics, White was honored with a celebratory parade Monday down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park. Park guests and NFL fans alike lined the iconic street as White smiled and waved from a float he shared with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters.

Afterwards, White posed for photos with Mickey and Minnie and enjoyed some fun time in the park, experiencing some of its most popular attractions such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

That continued a 30-year tradition of the Super Bowl hero celebrating his team’s victory at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort.

Super Bowl Hero James White “Going to Disney World!”

Seconds after helping lead his team to a thrilling, come-from-behind 34-28 overtime victory over Atlanta in Super Bowl LI, running back James White had another milestone moment to smile about.

He’s going to Disney World!

White, fresh from a record-setting performance in which he caught 14 passes for 110 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score, continues a tradition that began 30 years ago, in 1987. White is scheduled for a celebration parade Monday afternoon at the Magic Kingdom, before throngs of cheering fans and park guests.

Monday marks the fourth time a member of his team participated in the Super Bowl parade at Disney, dating to 2002. No NFL team has had a player appear more than four times in the iconic parade.

White joins a stellar 30-year history of heroes from sports and beyond who have celebrated special achievements at either Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or Disneyland Resort in California.
