Starting later this month, guests will have the chance to see the beloved star from Disney Junior’s hit animated series “Doc McStuffins” when they visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park at Walt Disney World® Resort.

In addition to her appearances at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, the popular toy doctor will make daily visits to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to meet with Guests and sign autographs. With her handy stethoscope in hand, she’ll stop by every day just outside the veterinarian clinic at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. While there, little ones can also learn a little about conservation and how the vets care for the animals that live at the park. And while preschoolers love the train ride to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, it also gives parents a few minutes to relax before the next adventure.

Disney Junior’s Peabody Award-winning animated series “Doc McStuffins” follows the story of six-year-old Doc McStuffins who aspires to be a doctor like her mom and runs a clinic for stuffed animals and broken toys. Recently renewed for a fifth season, the series showcases the hallmarks of great Disney storytelling – fantasy and wish fulfillment – and models compassion and good health for kids age 2-7. The series airs daily on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.

Disney Announces May 27 as Opening Date for Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Pandora – The World of Avatar will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Saturday, May 27, it was announced today by Disney CEO Bob Iger during The Walt Disney Company Shareholders meeting.

Inspired by Academy-award winning filmmaker James Cameron’s box-office hit, “AVATAR,” the new 12-acre land will immerse guests in the lush world of Pandora about a generation after the film’s human-Na’vi conflict.

The magical new land will transport guests to a mystical world of bioluminescent rainforests, floating mountains and soaring Banshees. Two main adventures will beckon Disney’s Animal Kingdom guests:

Riding a magnificent Mountain Banshee, guests will soar across Pandora on Avatar Flight of Passage. This high-tech adventure will offer a thrilling flight through the jungles and floating mountains, and over the majestic oceans of this colorful world. On the family-friendly Na’vi River Journey guests will sail down a sacred river hidden within a glowing rainforest. The expedition will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora.

Guests will also be able to dine at Satu’li Canteen, grab a drink at Pongu Pongu or shop for Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more at Windtraders.

The expansion completes the transformation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom from a day into nighttime theme park with captivating offerings and extended entertainment.

Pandora – The World of Avatar is a creative collaboration by Walt Disney Imagineering, Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment to bring to life the mythical world of Pandora.

EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT DISNEY PARKS’ STAR WARS-THEMED LAND

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, I was excited about the prospect of more Star Wars films, obviously, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what the acquisition meant for Disney Parks. Star Wars already had a presence in the parks with Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Jedi Training Academy, and special events, but oh, the potential—especially after seeing the level of immersion Imagineering nailed with Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure.

Super Bowl Hero James White Marks a 30-Year Tradition in Gala “Going to Disney World” Parade Monday at the Magic Kingdom

It was 1987 when the winning quarterback in Super Bowl XXI began a tradition of going to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate. That would carve out a place synonymous with glory and achievement in sports and other human endeavor.

Thirty years later, that same honor fell to running back James White, a hero of Super Bowl LI in Houston. White caught one touchdown pass and rushed for two others – including the game-winner in overtime – to help rally his team to an epic, come-from-behind 34-28 victory over Atlanta to capture the NFL Championship.

For his on-field heroics, White was honored with a celebratory parade Monday down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park. Park guests and NFL fans alike lined the iconic street as White smiled and waved from a float he shared with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters.
