DOLE Whip Day Foodie Guide 2024

The most delicious time of the year is almost here – DOLE Whip Day! July 18 marks the fourth annual celebration, which is honored on the third Thursday of July, and runs through July 21. And what better way to join in the festivities than with a Foodie Guide?

Fellow foodies and sweet tooths alike will be more than excited once they see the list we’ve put together for guests this year. The classic Disney treat can be found worldwide, and even aboard the high seas. But there’s so much more DOLE Whip than the iconic pineapple delight (which is, iconic for a reason). We’ve gathered all the DOLE Whips at Disney Parks and aboard Disney Cruise Line, including the beloved bites at Aloha Isle at Magic Kingdom Park, which is a DOLE Whip lover’s dream, and a savory, sweet indulgence with the Chile-Mango Whip from Disneyland Resort. There’s truly one for everyone and their taste buds!

The big day is only a couple weeks away, so stay tuned for even more DOLE Whip fun on the way. Guests won’t want to miss a minute of the tasty excitement.

Well, we’ve waited long enough. We’re getting hungry with anticipation. Here is the Foodie Guide to DOLE Whip Day 2024!

Who’s Who at Disney’s Country Bear Musical Jamboree

July 8, 2024

Yee haw! We can bear-ly contain our excitement that Country Bear Musical Jamboree is opening next week at Walt Disney World.

The bears are preparing a knee-slappin’ and toe-tappin’ kind of show with reinterpreted Disney tunes from bluegrass to Americana, rockabilly and more! These twangy tracks will even include “Try Everything” and “A Whole New World” from the Walt Disney Animation Studios films “Zootopia” and “Aladdin.”

Before the fiddlin’ begins on July 17 though, we’re taking guests on a behind the scenes tour with a special look at who’s who.

Meet the Country Bears

Ursus H. Bear

After an inspirational hibernation season, Ursus H. Bear set out to create a permanent cultural showplace dedicated to America’s musical heritage. In 1898, Ursus established Grizzly Hall where the honey tycoon-turned-impresario invited tuneful bruins to present zany and captivating performances in a show that quickly became known as a wild and wooly good time!

Henry

Years later, Ursus’s grandson Henry took over and now serves as the master of bear-emonies. He even helped develop the current show and co-wrote the opening song with the Five Bear Rugs.

Five Bear Rugs

Speaking of the Five Bear Rugs, there’s Zeke and Zeb and Ted and Fred and a bear named Tennessee, and they’re all playing with real ol’ country rhythm.

If you look to the bottom right of the stage, you’ll even see Zeb’s son, Oscar, holding a Big Al plush.

Trixie

One of the Country Bears’ most veteran performers is the one and only Trixie. After trying everything, she eventually found her niche for performing. Now fans can find her singing away with triplets Bunny, Bubbles and Beulah.

Bunny, Bubbles and Beulah

Originally known as The Sun Bonnets, these girls recently turned in their bonnets for Stetsons when they began singing with Trixie around the world, including a sold-out engagement at Royal Ursa Hall.

Teddi Barra

Not to be outdone by Trixie is The Jewel of the Dakotas, Teddi Barra. Her rise in show biz was meteoric after being discovered in an ice cream parlor.

Wendell

Wendell, on the other hand, was a frustrated basketball, baseball and football player until Henry invited him to try carrying a tune, and he’s been part of the Country Bears gang ever since. He’s thrilled to finally sing a love song with Teddi, much to the dismay of his old friend Henry.

Ernest the Dude

Ernest the Dude is one of the best-dressed bears guests will see at Grizzly Hall – he brings his entire wardrobe wherever he goes. For those counting, that’s 17 trunks filled with 30 coats, 40 slacks, 60 shirts, 20 hats and a pair and a half of underwear.

Terrence, aka Shaker

Ernest and Trixie aren’t the only actors in the bear band. Terrence, aka Shaker, was once a famous theater star until a fall from the balcony in “Romeo and Juliet” brought the house down – literally.

Ever since that fateful night, he turned in his tights for a guitar and created a signature dance move that he’s used ever since. Don’t worry about Terrence, though. Despite having a face only a Mama Bear could love – and being perpetually single –  he’s ready to launch his film career.

Romeo McGrowl

Speaking of starting a new chapter, one bear is ready to enter his next era of singing rockabilly. Of course, we’re referring to none other than the Miami Serenader himself, Romeo McGrowl.

Gomer

Our resident piano player Gomer also knows a thing or two about rebrands. Having been classically trained since he was a cub, Gomer’s favorite composition before switching to country and western music was “Night on Bear Mountain.”

Big Al

And of course, what would the Country Bears be without Big Al? There’s music in this bear’s blood, and he’s been playing the guitar since he was a child.

He was even the resident bard and balladeer in the swamp before Disney World was built. Coming off his 25th Farewell Tour in cities like Paris (Texas), Hollywood (Florida) and London (Ohio), Big Al is a true legend.

The Country Bears are like one big, happy family, and we thank guests for bearing with us as they rehearse a brand-new show. As we like to say around Grizzly Hall, we hope that guests will be comin’ back again when the Country Bear Musical Jamboree opens July 17 at Magic Kingdom!

First Look! New Funnel Suite and More Coming to the Disney Dream this Fall

After spending the summer season in Europe, the Disney Dream will debut some exciting updates this fall when it arrives at its home port in Fort Lauderdale. From an updated Oceaneer Club and a brand-new funnel suite to a new concierge lounge and revamped spa, let’s take a look at what will soon be making waves on the Disney Dream!

Revamped Youth Spaces

Recruits, assemble! A state-of-the-art lab, thanks to members of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or “WEB” for short, will be swinging into the Oceaneer Club. At Marvel WEB Workshop, young recruits will be able to test new suit prototypes for Spider-Man and other heroes and conduct training simulations using WEB technology to fend off enemies from the Workshop. The best part? Avenger mentors will drop by the workshop to check in on their progress!

Up next is Edge, the tween club for guests ages 11-14, which will move to Deck 5 and debut exciting new features, including access to an outdoor deck with a ball pit and recreational games, all exclusively for Edge and Vibe. Edge will also include a club lounge and dance floor for unforgettable parties with new friends. Are they taking song requests yet?

Fantastical Funnel Suite

What kind of sorcery…

The forward funnel of the Disney Dream is about to completely transform into the Dream Tower Suite! In homage to the Disney Dream’s stern character, Sorcerer Mickey, the all-new, two-story funnel suite will be themed to the classic Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Fantasia,” and its beloved sequence, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (enchanted brooms not included). Full of gilded features that reflect the Disney Dream’s art deco motif, this spectacular suite will immerse guests in Sorcerer Mickey’s magic, including celestial-inspired surroundings, carpet design inspired by flowing water, and a chandelier reminiscent of his famous control of the waves.

Concierge guests will sing “bless my soul!” in the harmonious fashion of the Muses as they enter an expanded Concierge Lounge, an all-new space inspired by the Disney Animation film, “Hercules,” and the heavenly Mount OlympusThe ethereal lounge will have light, airy details and rich colors inspired by the clouds of Mount Olympus, with hints of bright gold evoking the gates to the kingdom of the gods.

Treat Yourself!

Now, to the spa! This tranquil space will have a refreshed check-in area and will expand to include new treatment rooms. And, last but not least, joining the quick service dining options on Deck 11 will be a guest favorite cantina, offering a delicious selection of tacos, burritos and bowls!

The Disney Dream will debut all of these magical enhancements in fall 2024. As part of these enhancements, Disney Cruise Line has updated the assigned stateroom category for select room types on the Disney Dream. Guests booked in a 01A category stateroom on sailings beginning this fall have received a SeaMail informing of this change. Updated deck plans for the Disney Dream will be available at a later date.
