Disney Cruise Line Takes Guests on Epic Adventures in 2020 with the Return of Star Wars Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea

In 2020, epic adventures at sea return to Disney Cruise Line with limited engagements of two popular experiences – Star Wars Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea. Setting sail on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic to the Caribbean and Bahamas, these seven and five-night sailings combine the splendor of a Disney Cruise Line vacation with a special day at sea filled with unique character encounters, live shows and action-packed entertainment. 

Star Wars Day at Sea

Your Clients can celebrate the legendary adventures and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga on special seven-night Disney Fantasy sailings from January to March 2020, taking them to the Caribbean and a galaxy far, far away.

In addition to encounters with the galaxy’s most formidable and heroic characters, including Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2, this cruise features a full day of Star Wars activities including live shows, Star Wars-themed family and kids’ activities, unique food and beverage and special merchandise offerings. The day ends with “Summon the Force,” a deck party that celebrates the Star Wars universe and caps off the night with a fireworks show of galactic proportions.  

Star Wars Day at Sea will only be offered on nine Disney Fantasy seven-night Caribbean cruises sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Departing Jan. 11, Jan. 25 and Feb. 22, 2020, the eastern Caribbean itinerary includes Tortola, St. Thomas and Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.

Departing Feb. 8, 2020, the eastern Caribbean itinerary includes Tortola; San Juan, Puerto Rico and Castaway Cay.

Departing Jan. 4, Jan. 18, Feb. 1, Feb. 15 and Feb. 29, 2020, the western Caribbean itinerary includes Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Falmouth, Jamaica and Castaway Cay.

Marvel Day at Sea

From January to early March 2020, special five-night Disney Magic sailings will combine the excitement of a Disney cruise to the Caribbean and Bahamas with the thrills of renowned Marvel comics, films and animated series for an action-packed, day-long celebration of the Marvel Universe.

The largest assembly of Marvel Super Heroes and Villains, including the recent addition of Captain Marvel, along with Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man and more, highlight an all-day entertainment lineup that includes live shows for the whole family, an extraordinary deck show, Marvel-themed activities for kids and families, special merchandise and unique food and beverage offerings.

Marvel Day at Sea will only be offered on nine Disney Magic Caribbean and Bahamian cruises sailing from Miami, Florida.

Departing Jan. 9, Jan. 27, Feb. 10, Feb. 24 and March 9, 2020, the Bahamian itinerary includes Key West, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.

Departing Feb. 1, Feb. 15 and Feb. 29, 2020, the western Caribbean itinerary includes George Town, Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay.

Departing Jan. 18, 2020, the western Caribbean itinerary includes Cozumel, Mexico and Castaway Cay.

Newly Reimagined Magic of Disney Store Now Open in Orlando International Airport

Guests arriving or departing from Terminal B at the Orlando International Airport will now find even more Disney magic with the opening of the new Magic of Disney shop. This reimagined merchandise destination is the perfect spot for kicking off a Disney vacation, or for picking up those last-minute souvenirs for friends and family back home.

Designed with an open and contemporary layout, Guests visiting the location will discover the best of what Walt Disney World has to offer. New design elements include spectacular imagery and oversized digital displays that will bring to life the beauty, uniqueness and magic from all four theme parks.

A curated collection of beloved merchandise awaits travelers, from apparel and accessories to home goods and iconic Mouse-eared headwear. The location will also carry “must-have” items that are currently available exclusively in merchandise locations at Walt Disney World® Resort, such as the Potion Purple collection or products from special events like the Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival.

The newly transformed Magic of Disney store joins the existing Disney’s EarPort store, which is located in Terminal A. Video – Initial Testing Underway for Disney Skyliner Gondolas – More Details Revealed!

Sharp-eyed visitors to Walt Disney World® Resort this week may have spotted something new up in the sky while Disney Skyliner began its initial testing.

Scheduled to open this fall, Disney Skyliner will be a new, state-of-the-art gondola system that will conveniently connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and Epcot® to four resort hotels – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the proposed Disney’s Riviera Resort, which is now accepting Guest reservations for stays beginning Dec. 16, 2019. The official Resort opening date will be announced at a later time.

The Skyliner’s towers have been under construction for about a year, so to have a gondola up on its cables is an exciting milestone! Check out this video to hear more about the project from Jordan Matthews at Walt Disney Imagineering:

Several gondolas will be adorned with graphics based on Disney films, attractions and characters. So for example, Guests may jump into a gondola where from the ground it will look like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto or Chip & Dale are riding along with them Several Disney animated films will be represented, including “Beauty & the Beast,” “Frozen,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Moana,” “Peter Pan,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Zootopia.”

‘Mickey’s Soundsational Parade’ Returns for Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration at Disneyland Resort

Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration invites you to the biggest celebration of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Disneyland® Resort history!

As part of this celebration, the popular “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” has returned to Disneyland Park. Mickey and his drum corps kick off a whimsical, musical procession of Disney characters. Goofy tows a larger-than-life pull-toy, inspired by the classic and nostalgic Mickey pull toys, and Chip ‘n’ Dale arrive with a giant celebration cake.

You can also take part of the new Get Your Ears On Celebration Dance Party at Tomorrowland Terrace. Guests of all ages will be able to move and groove each night with some of their favorite Disney characters. Listen up for the infectious celebration song, “It’s a Good Time,” along with other popular Disney tunes.

Of course the Disney crew has donned their “party best” for Get Your Ears On. Be sure to tell you to look out for Mickey Mouse and pals in new, fashionable outfits. 

In addition, “Mickey’s Mix Magic” lights up the night with its new high-energy projection show, creating a family-fun dance party throughout the park. Also for a limited-time during Get Your Ears On, specialty food, beverage, novelty items and merchandise are available for Guests to celebrate the beloved duo in fun, new ways.

New Zootopia-Themed Expansion Announced for Shanghai Disney Resort

Shanghai Disney Resort announced the second major expansion of Shanghai Disneyland since its June 2016 opening, a new land that will bring to life the characters and stories from Disney’s popular animated film Zootopia. The new expansion will become the theme park’s eighth land, and its announcement comes less than a year after the opening of its first major expansion, Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land, in a sign of the resort’s early success and the confidence in the growing consumer demand for themed entertainment in China.

Feel the Love of “The Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Guests take a walk on the wild side at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party,” featuring Timon and Rafiki from Disney’s “The Lion King.” Guests will also be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “The Lion King” by taking photos with special, dimensional backgrounds on Discovery Island and at the park’s entrance.
