“I love Washington D.C.  Not only was it built on a swamp, but this is where I got my start in show business – on a local TV show in 1955,” said Kermit the Frog.  “Being in D.C. is like coming home!”

“Moi is thrilled to be part of this glorious patriotic celebration,” adds Miss Piggy, who insists she’s ready for all the pomp and pageantry.  “Let’s face it, wherever I go there’s usually fireworks.”

A CAPITOL FOURTH airs on PBS Friday, July 4, 2014 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET before a concert audience of hundreds of thousands, millions more at home, as well as to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network.  The program can also be heard live over NPR member stations nationwide.

Behind The Light is Phillips’ follow-up to 2012’s The World from the Side of the Moon (a platinum plus-selling album) that debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 and featured the 5x platinum smash hit “Home.”   Throughout the last year, the 23-year-old Georgia native has toured the U.S. and the world, joining Matchbox Twenty and John Mayer on tour and sharing a stage with Bruce Springsteen at the 2013 Rock in Rio festival.  The American Idol season 11 winner is currently co-headlining a summer tour with O.A.R.

Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the Muppets are the stars of the recent motion picture, Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted,” as well as international stars of television, movies and music.  Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted,” will be available for purchase on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, DVD, Disney Movies Anywhere, and On-Demand on August 12th, 2014.

Muppets Mobilize for Must-See QVC Adventure

Imagine a pig, a pair of frogs and their posse walk into QVC. Sound like a far-fetched story filled with contagious laughter? Well, it will be reality on March 16 when the Muppets burst through QVC’s doors to celebrate Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted, in theatres March 21.

That’s right. The Muppets are coming to QVC!

Miss Piggy…check. Kermit the Frog…check. Constantine…check. The Great Gonzo, Pepe the King Prawn, Beaker… check, check, check. The global multimedia retailer is eager to welcome the Muppets for a day full of abundant adventure and special surprises.

“We might be crazy to let the Muppets assume control of QVC on March 16, but it’s too late to back out now,” commented Doug Rose, senior vice president of marketing and programming for QVC. “We’re just crossing our fingers that they know what they’re doing and that nobody gets hurt.”

The fun-filled day will include numerous opportunities for the Muppets to mingle and cavort with many of QVC’s program hosts and celebrity guests. Among them, Swedish Chef will put his cooking skills to the test during a special edition of In the Kitchen with David®. Pepe the King Prawn will prove he’s no shrimp when it comes to social commentary throughout the day. And Link Hogthrob may have a dream come true with the chance to serve as QVC co-host. Entertainment icon and fashion laureate Joan Rivers will also be on air that day, which is sure to lead to even more excitement for the gang.

Given their pop-culture limelight, Miss Piggy, Kermit and other beloved Muppets will get beauty tips from QVC guests Chaz Dean, Laura Geller, Mally, Josie Maran and Sherri Shepherd. The crew will also have the chance to meet style and fashion experts Jill Martin, Lori Goldstein, Dennis Basso and Joe Zee, who will be sure to keep the film stars on trend. Of course, there’s no doubt the Muppets will get in on some whimsical behind-the-scenes action during their whirlwind visit.

One of the movie’s stars is no stranger to QVC, however. Undeniable style icon Miss Piggy made recent headlines with her appearance at QVC’s Red Carpet Style event in Los Angeles. The ever-fabulous fashionista made her foray into the world of design with Miss Piggy’s Haute Tote, the special-edition tote bag for the gala event, and she’s eager to return to QVC this Sunday.

“When it comes to shopping, no one has more experience than moi,” said movie star and world-class diva Miss Piggy. “And QVC keeps my shopping skills at the peak of performance. I am really looking forward to connecting with the QVC woman. We have so much in common. We’re fabulous. We’re fashionable! And we always get what we want!”

“Muppets Most Wanted” Soundtrack To Make Mayhem March 18

muppets most wantedThe Muppets are back on the big screen with the all-new caper “Muppets Most Wanted,” creating the musical mayhem that’s made them fan favorites for almost four decades. With songs by Bret McKenzie, who won an Oscar® for the original song “Man or Muppet” in 2011’s “The Muppets,” and a score by Christophe Beck, who’s behind the scores of Disney’s Oscar-winning short “Paperman” and the Golden Globe®-winning, Oscar-nominated hit “Frozen,” the soundtrack features all-star vocalists, including Kermit the Frog, Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey, Miss Piggy, Josh Groban, Constantine and Celine Dion. Walt Disney Records will release the “Muppets Most Wanted” soundtrack March 18, three days before the movie hits theaters.

“The ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ soundtrack is some of the best music by a frog, pig, bear, chickens, penguins and a—uh, whatever—ever recorded,” said Kermit the Frog. “It’s like going on tour with the Muppets, but without the messy cleanup afterwards.

According to McKenzie, who wrote songs for the Muppets’ last big-screen adventure, the songs are true to the Muppets’ musical reputation: they’re packed with puns, punch lines and Muppets mayhem. “All of the songs are quite story specific,” he said. “They’re very character driven.

“‘I’m Number One’ is about the bad frog Constantine being the number one criminal and his sidekick Dominic, played by Ricky Gervais, being number two,” McKenzie continued. “It’s a power struggle, a classic rivalry song in a style that could be performed in a cabaret venue. A lot of the old Muppets songs are like that—show pieces.”
