Now, many of those projects are no longer concepts on a screen. They’re being designed, engineered, built, tested, and brought to life by teams across the globe. And that’s exactly what Horizons: A Carousel of Progress will be all about.
Sharing a Carousel of Progress
Horizons will feature a series of conversations with Walt Disney Imagineering leaders and creative talent helping shape projects around the world – taking the audience on a journey through Disney’s unmatched storytelling legacy, the spirit of adventure at the heart of so many Disney stories, the remarkable creative process anchored by exploration and curiosity, and the bold promise of possibility that has guided Imagineers for more than seven decades.
And because this is still a Disney Experiences showcase, those conversations will be joined by high-energy performances, special moments, and a little Disney magic along the way.
Fans can expect project updates, first looks, new artwork and renderings, behind-the-scenes stories, creative insights, and a closer look at how some of Disney Experiences’ most ambitious projects are progressing. We’re pulling back the curtain on the work, collaboration, and imagination of many of the experiences in development that Disney fans are eagerly following.

Greetings from the south shores of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World Resort, the future home of Disney Lakeshore Lodge!
Guests can embark on this journey, following Letters from Lakeshore as the proposed nature-inspired resort comes to life. Like a collection of postcards, each update will share new details – from first looks to finishing touches, with exclusive behind-the-scenes moments along the way.
The grand opening of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is in summer 2027.
There’s more magic happening along the shores of Bay Lake as Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge continues to take shape. Walt Disney Imagineers are hard at work designing new spaces where families and friends can gather, reconnect, and experience sunrise coffee, leisurely afternoons, and unforgettable nighttime views. Here is a first look at some of these exciting new venues guests can enjoy when the resort opens next summer.

When guests arrive at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, they’ll step into the lobby and become immersed in the sights and sounds of nature. Spectacular floor‑to‑ceiling windows will welcome natural sunlight and showcase sweeping views of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area, allowing the local flora and fauna to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.
Drawing inspiration from the music and storytelling of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Pocahontas, a shimmering fiberoptic river will illuminate the floor, while overhead, a blown glass Colors of the Wind sculpture with hundreds of suspended glass leaves will fill the space with movement, color, and wonder.
Natural materials will be incorporated throughout the lobby design, with custom tapestries inspired by the film’s landscapes and thoughtfully crafted furnishings with accents of river-recovered cypress wood.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will debut with three distinctive dining experiences for guests to enjoy throughout their stay. From convenient, grab-and-go favorites to memorable waterfront dining, each location is thoughtfully designed to highlight the resort’s connection to the natural beauty of Bay Lake.

Along the lakefront, Moonglade will offer an enchanting table-service dining experience where stunning water views are part of every course. Here, guests will enjoy thoughtfully prepared dishes featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Floor-to-ceiling windows will frame the gracefully arching cypress trees along Bay Lake where artful lighting and nuanced design reflect the interplay of light and shadow.

Bay Lake Provisions will be the perfect spot to fuel up for a day of adventure or relax and refresh after a poolside afternoon. This all-day, quick-service marketplace will offer specialty coffees and fresh fare in an inviting open-kitchen atmosphere.
And because no space is complete without a little hidden magic, guests can find woodland critters inspired by beloved Disney classics throughout the space.

When all the fun in the sun works up an appetite, guests can head to Paint Out Point Bar & Grill near Lakeshore Lagoon.
They can enjoy shareable bites and specialty beverages while soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds The Wetlands. Inspired by the art of plein-air painting, this pool bar will showcase a collection of original artwork created by Imagineers as they drew inspiration from the Bay Lake landscapes.

After the sun sets, guests can gather in Dandelion Terrace to see Magic Kingdom Park fireworks lighting up the sky over the waters of Bay Lake.
The lounge will be home to a two-story gallery of archival artwork from Disney classics like Fantasia, complete with whimsical dandelion light fixtures that add a touch of magic to the space. Soft lighting and sweeping views create the perfect setting to slow down and enjoy the nighttime spectacular.
Stay tuned as we continue to share more details about Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, projected to open in summer 2027 at Walt Disney World Resort.
When Disney Lakeshore Lodge opens in summer 2027, guests will be invited to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature at The Wetlands, a sweeping outdoor recreation area just beyond the lobby that immerses guests in the beauty of Bay Lake.
The Wetlands will be thoughtfully designed with both fun and relaxation in mind. Younger guests will become part of nature’s story through whimsical wet and dry play areas inspired by the music and storytelling of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Pocahontas.” Drawing from the lyrics “the heron and the otter are my friends” from the beloved song “Colors of the Wind,” these vibrant spaces will celebrate the playful connections found in nature.

Heron Shores will welcome exploration and hands‑on play with imaginative climbing features, while just around the riverbend, Otter Springs will come to life with interactive water features where little ones can cool off as they splash and slide. Nearby, the lazy Daydream River will invite guests to sit back and relax as the current carries them through the recreation area, offering a leisurely way to take in views of the surrounding landscape.

At the heart of The Wetlands will be Lakeside Lagoon, the resort’s zero‑entry feature pool where guests of all ages can come together under the Florida sun, complete with a spiral waterslide that leads into the refreshing water. Tucked away on the opposite side of the resort, Perspective Pond will be home to a leisure pool and whirlpool spa, perfectly positioned for views of Magic Kingdom fireworks in the evenings.
Whether your clients choose to start their morning with a peaceful float along the Daydream River or end the day watching the sun set over Bay Lake, each area of The Wetlands will offer a distinct connection to nature, balancing breathtaking beauty and tranquility with moments of discovery and play.
As guests make their way along a scenic path through the recreation area, they’ll uncover fun facts about the local flora and fauna that surrounds them. Keep an eye out for a special plaque that honors a beloved historic attraction that once stood on this very spot!
And best of all, the fun in the sun is just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom! Staying in the magic at a Disney World hotel means enjoying access to unique amenities, along with special benefits such as complimentary transportation across Walt Disney World Resort and extra time to enjoy the theme parks.
Stay tuned to Letters from Lakeshore on Disney Travel News for more details as Disney Lakeshore Lodge continues to take shape.

Introducing Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a waterfront retreat where guests and their loved ones will discover the wonder of nature through the artistry of Disney storytelling.
Projected to open at Walt Disney World Resort in summer 2027, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers. Inspired by Walt Disney’s lifelong admiration for the great outdoors, the resort’s design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.
Nestled along the tranquil shores of Bay Lake, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will invite families to slow down, take in their surroundings, and create cherished memories together. Spectacular floor‑to‑ceiling windows will welcome natural sunlight and showcase views of the local flora and fauna, allowing the outdoors to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.
With 967 thoughtfully designed rooms, this new addition to the Disney Resorts Collection will offer a variety of ways to stay, from cozy studios to spacious suites. Many rooms will offer peaceful views of Bay Lake by day and spectacular views of Magic Kingdom park fireworks by night. The resort will also debut with new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront, offering families an even closer connection to nature with ample space to relax and unwind.
In the months ahead, we’ll share more about the dining locations, recreational offerings, amenities, and distinctive design details that will bring the spirit of nature and the magic of Disney storytelling to life at Disney Lakeshore Lodge.

The chefs have conjured up delicious treats of their own. From new items like Candle Petit Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie or the Pumpkin Spice S’more at The Ganachery to a few returning favorites, there are plenty of treats to enjoy all season long.
Disney Springs is bringing back the Halloween Overlay at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar opening on August 11. This will include new Halloween-inspired menu items like the Candelabra Eggs and Midnight Mayhem Popcorn Chicken as well as boo-tiful décor.
Stay tuned for for the Halloween treats and eats coming soon to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
(Available August 11 through November 9)

It also makes for the perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere with some provisions and libations while sitting a spell.

Nothing says sharing a bite with friends like a beautiful – and delicious! – savory charcuterie board. Topped with cured beef, ‘fancy bacon’, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles, it’s a dream for all who step into The Diamond Horseshoe’s doors: fine city folk and cowboys alike!
Hungry for more sharables? Keep an eye out for more news about what other small plates your clients may enjoy.

If you are looking for a refreshing beverage before continuing your exploration of all the good fun to be found in Magic Kingdom, there is a beautiful margarita, made with LALO Blanco Tequila, prickly pear, lime, and agave. It isn’t only tasty to sip and savor, but it’s worth snapping a pic or two – just look at that gorgeous pink color!

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival provides endless opportunities to enjoy bites and beverages from around the world, so guests never have to choose just one. And today, we have a whole spread of details to share so you can prepare for the 2026 festival.
Ahead of opening day, we’re serving up the festival dates along with an early look at returning activities and experiences that make this a must-do (and eat) event each year. Let’s dig in!
Get ready to sip and stroll through the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, where mouthwatering global marketplaces meet live performances, activities, and more. The fun and flavor-filled celebration of worldly cuisines has been a fan-favorite festival since 1996, with every year bringing new surprises and returning classics.
The festival will run from August 27 to November 21, 2026. This is the perfect period as the sun is setting on summertime and the fall festivities are just creeping in at Walt Disney World.

EPCOT is already known for its diverse array of food and drink selections, and the festival only adds to the number of delectable offerings you can discover around the park.
While our chefs are still cooking up the final menus and list of marketplaces for 2026, we have a scrumptious sneak peek. Here are three items that will be returning this year:
Throughout the festival, some Global Marketplaces will have a phased opening. Guests should keep their eyes peeled for the full menus and opening dates for each marketplace.

Calling fans of all things cheesy: Emile’s Fromage Montage is once again returning to the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
This popular food stroll highlights cheese inspired dishes available at select Global Marketplaces throughout EPCOT, where guests can collect stamps in their festival passport for each eligible dish they try and earn a festival treat when they complete the mission.

Remy is back and ready to explore EPCOT once again during the Food & Wine Festival. Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille, Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt encourages guests of all ages to follow along with the culinary‑loving character as he hides throughout World Showcase.
This interactive hunt is ideal for families and offers a fun way to discover different pavilions while keeping an eye out for Remy and the ingredients he is collecting. Guests can purchase a themed map and stickers to track their progress, and if they’re able to spot Remy in every location, a special keepsake awaits.

Live music takes center stage each year at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, with the return of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series at the America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure Pavilion.
This popular performance series brings together flavorful fun and tasty tunes, with a dynamic lineup highlighting a curated mix of music for all to appreciate. Multiple shows are usually scheduled each day, so guests can find a way to feel the beat no matter how jam-packed your park day itinerary is.
Concerts are included with EPCOT theme park admission, and seating is available on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Guests can also explore festival dining packages, which provide a great way to indulge in a meal before the show and have a guaranteed seat when the music begins, before they go on sale July 16.
The full lineup of artists was recently announced, and your ears are truly in for a treat this year!
Guests have been busy laughing, movin’, and groovin’ all Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at GoofyCore and the next chapter is about to get extra tasty.
Starting September 18, guests can get ready to say, “Cheers to Cheese!” with an all-new interactive exhibit coming to CommuniCore Hall. They will be able to celebrate one of the world’s most beloved foods, discovering fun facts and the fascinating history of cheese around every corner… or wedge?

Say “cheese!” Disney PhotoPass photographers all around the park will be serving up new and returning limited-time photo ops, including special Magic Shots.
Go on a global tasting tour with Mickey Mouse, explore unorthodox (and unintelligible) culinary sciences with The Swedish Chef, discover a leaning tower of cheeza with Max Goof, and use the secret ingredient of imagination to find Chef Figment.
To savor the experience long after a visit, guests should consider adding a Memory Maker photo package to their vacation to download these and all of their other PhotoPass memories.

NEW! Waiter Mickey Mouse throughout World Showcase (Mexico, China, Italy, Japan, and France)
Returning! Giant Empanada
Returning! Leaning Tower of Cheeza
Returning! Swedish Chef Magic Shot
Returning! Chef Figment

In between the snacking and sipping, there’s lots more to do at EPCOT!
Savor the possibilities and go on a galactic journey with the Guardians, greet characters from Disney stories, shop for merchandise or souvenirs, and join in on a spirited sing-along with ¡Celebración Encanto! at CommuniCore Plaza.

Hungry for more? With the fall festival season at Walt Disney World Resort just around the corner, there’s plenty to look forward to at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Dates are on the calendar, and we’ll have more details to reveal as we get closer, so keep checking back for the latest festival updates.
And as we are officially halfway to Halloween, we can certainly say that spooky season will bring a spellbinding selection of tricks and treats!

August 3, 2026
On select autumn nights, the sun sets over Cinderella Castle as Magic Kingdom park transforms into the center for all things spooky and fun. For those who yearn for ghastly vibes, it’s time to start planning their next night of magical frights. Today we’re sharing the 2026 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates, when tickets go on sale, and a few details on what to expect at this year’s celebration.
Mickey’s No-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separate ticketed event that happens each year at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Offerings include exclusive entertainment, Halloween-themed food and beverages, photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, and character greetings.
Guests can expect a party that offers the ultimate family Halloween celebration: Show off their most creative Disney-themed costume and see the Headless Horseman stalk the streets. Gather candy around every corner, see their favorite rides get a little spookier — and maybe even run into a witch or three.
The 2026 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates will run from August 7 to October 31. The party runs only on specific weekend or weekday nights, so be sure to consult the calendar of dates when planning a trip.
Planning Tip: To help conjure your fiendish pursuits, note that in August, party dates occur on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This is also true for September with the addition of one Thursday date on September 24. In October, ghouls can descend upon Magic Kingdom every Thursday; most Fridays, Sundays, most Tuesdays; and Saturday on Halloween.

Now that you’ve got the dates, here are a few sneak peeks at new and returning entertainment all around Magic Kingdom.
New this year, Stitch is hosting an ever-changing dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland with the help of his friends Lilo and Angel. After getting his paws on Lilo’s Costume Trunk, every accessory he tries on will spark a theme swap and keep the party playfully unpredictable all night long.
And, of course, a little spider told us that the Cadaver Dans will be back again this year to sing in soulful harmony.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket prices vary per date and will be available for purchase starting on May 5 for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green. Tickets will be available starting on May 12 for all other guests. Party dates often sell out, so our best tip is to plan early and purchase tickets in advance for your desired party date.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Party Ticket discounts are once again available for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members.
Planning Tip: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM before the party kicks off at 7:00 PM. This means guests have up to 8 hours to celebrate all across the park.

For some guests, Halloween dreams include a bag overflowing with candy. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the best trick-or-treat destinations, with over a dozen opportunities to collect candy throughout the park, marked on guests’ party map. And this year, guests can expect even more fun than ever before with some familiar (and fiendish) faces surprising guests along the trails.
At each stop, cast members give out handfuls of Mars Wrigley favorites like M&Ms, Snickers and Starburst. And no worries if guests’ forgot their pumpkin bucket at home: Each guest will receive complimentary treat bags for candy collection (that includes adults).
Trick-or-treaters do not have to be in costume to collect candy. Guests are encouraged to dress up in creative Halloween costumes. Guests should be sure to follow official costume guidelines.
Guests can meet Sally and Jack Skellington at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at one of the many character stops that feature exclusive meet-and-greet opportunities. At Town Square Theater, Mickey and Minnie will greet guests together in their Halloween costumes. Pooh will be in his bumblebee costume, and you may spot festive royal couples ready to say hello, like Ariel and Eric and Aladdin and Jasmine.
Stay tuned for our complete guide on which characters guests can meet — and who will be in special festive attire.
For even more creepy character fun, guests should keep their eyes peeled because they may see new and returning Disney Villains appear as you creep by through the streets.

In this whimsical production, Mickey, Minnie and their friends have donned cute costumes to lead a parade of waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses and treacherous villains. Guests can expect to see characters like Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph.
In 2026, the Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade will again take place at 8:15 PM to allow plenty of time for little ones to enjoy the celebration.

It’s been three hundred years, right down to the day … or it seems that long since we’ve seen the Sanderson Sisters take the stage. This fan-favorite show is both hilarious and bone-chilling as Winifred, Sarah, and Mary try their haphazard best to cast a spell.
It turns out that they need a little help from their friends, who happen to be some of the most nefarious Disney Villains, including the likes of Hades, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, and The Evil Queen. Guests will help add ingredients to the cauldron with lots of clapping and singing along.

As the party creeps closer to the witching hour, guests are invited to a spooky story time with the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, who has transformed Cinderella Castle into a haunted house. Watch as Zero leads Mickey and Friends inside, where spiderwebs, skeletons, and Grim Grinning Ghosts await.
Dazzling projections will transform the castle into a spooky fantasy while the sky comes alive with fireworks. Get ready for towering encounters with Ursula, The Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie. Will Mickey and Friends make it out of Jack’s haunted house this time?

Guests can peruse the 2026 MNSSHP Foodie Guide to plot their next tricky treat. There is savory foods, sweet treats, and screamingly good snacks.
Guests will be able to commemorate their not-so-scary night of memories with exclusive party merchandise, available for purchase only at Magic Kingdom!
Your clients can show their spooky spirit with the Not-So-Scary Crewneck and Adult Tees – from the classic Halloween colors to the Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the Headless Horseman, these shirts are the perfect way to keep the party in loving memory.

Guests will shriek with delight when they finish off their perfectly frightful ‘fit with new Mickey Ears – not only do these little be-oooooo-ties glow in the dark, the bat bow is removable to further customize a look.
*Merchandise available while supplies last
Once again, a few favorite rides are getting a grim overlay. Expect spellbinding transformations with special lighting and music. Check back to see which attractions are getting the Halloween treatment.
Stay tuned for even more details and shriek peeks of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party entertainment, merchandise, and photo opportunities as they materialize.

Today, the Kraft Heinz Company and The Walt Disney Company announced a landmark, long-term multi-year strategic alliance, bringing together two of the world’s most iconic companies. The enterprise-wide alliance spans foodservice, media, events and more—creating a platform for innovation and storytelling that reaches families wherever they engage with Disney and Kraft Heinz brands both in parks and cruises, and at home.

Ten Kraft Heinz brands—including HEINZ, Philadelphia, Kraft Mac & Cheese—will become part of Disney moments that guests and fans love most—bringing familiar favorites to settings as iconic as Main Street, U.S.A. and as adventurous as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The alliance will show up across Disney’s North American parks and resorts, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney’s studios and streaming platforms, and creates opportunities involving Disney’s iconic franchises. The collaboration enables Kraft Heinz and Disney to deliver new menu offerings, distinctive dining experiences and storytelling-driven offerings inspired by Disney’s unmatched portfolio of beloved stories and franchises.
The alliance will introduce new menu items, guest experiences and product offerings at hundreds of dining locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., and on Disney Cruise Line sailings out of North America.
The collaboration combines Kraft Heinz’s leadership in flavor and innovation with Disney’s world-class culinary creativity and storytelling to introduce new menu offerings and bespoke guest experiences across U.S. Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line. This includes the debut of new HEINZ condiment stations and custom-designed equipment throughout the parks. Additionally, HEINZ will delight fans at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this August 14-16 in Anaheim, Calif., with new sauces from their Sauce Vault.
The alliance also unlocks opportunities for integrated marketing campaigns, digital content and brand-led marketing campaigns across Disney’s media platforms—creating powerful opportunities for families and fans to engage across meals, moments and memories.
“Kraft Heinz and Disney are two companies that are woven into the fabric of family life,” said Nicolas Amaya, President of North America at Kraft Heinz Company. “For generations, families have grown up with our brands side by side—watching Disney favorites with a bowl of Kraft Mac & Cheese or reaching for HEINZ at the table. This alliance is about showing up together in the moments that matter most—whether at the parks or at home—to deliver elevated experiences and storytelling that turn everyday meals into memories that last a lifetime.”
The multi-year collaboration brings Kraft Heinz brands to consumers at scale through one of the world’s most powerful entertainment ecosystems. Inspired by Disney’s enduring cultural impact and multi-generational fandom, the alliance advances Kraft Heinz’s ambition to meet consumers wherever culture is happening—at the intersection of food, sports and entertainment.
“Disney Corporate Alliances is focused on working with iconic brands with shared values to create meaningful experiences that bring families closer to the stories and places they love,” said Becca Vodnoy, Senior Vice President of Corporate Alliances at The Walt Disney Company. “The collaboration with Kraft Heinz is the perfect demonstration of another brand that understands how families connect through everyday moments, and together we will build creative experiences for our consumers across our destinations, platforms, and fan touchpoints.”
The alliance officially launches this summer, with activations and experiences rolling out across North American Disney parks, resorts, cruises, and more throughout the year. Fans can also expect surprises at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this August, offering an early glimpse into the collaboration.
