Disney Launches Destination: Disney Style

Disney today announced Destination: Disney Style, a new YouTube series taking viewers on a trip around the globe to explore the unique ways its characters and stories are interpreted through fashion. The five-part original series is hosted by YouTube influencers LaurDIY, Jaleesa Moses, Meredith Foster and Lucy & Lydia and gives fans a glimpse of recent international Disney collaborations, street style and trends in multiple fashion capitals.

Each episode comes from an international city and looks at how local designers, fans and fashionistas put their own twist on Disney style:

  • Tokyo Disney Street Style (Aug 2) – LaurDIY gets an insider’s look at Disney Expo Japan 2016, Tokyo Disneyland® and Tokyo DisneySea®, plus explores the way the renowned Harajuku Girls incorporate Disney into their Tokyo street style looks
  • Shanghai Fashion Week (Aug 9) – Jaleesa Moses gets a front row seat for the shows featuring Minnie Mouse-inspired designs from Chinese fashion designers Ji Cheng, Lulu Han, Makin Ma and Cindy Soong
  • Disney x Coach (Aug 16) – This Mickey Mouse collection is flying off shelves and popping up in NYC street style; Meredith Foster meets the creative force behind the collaboration
  • London Calling (Aug 23) London-based Lucy & Lydia are on the VIP list for the launch of the Disney x Cath Kidstoncollection and explore some distinctly British Disney street style
  • Finding Pixar Fashion (Aug 30) – LaurDIY gets an early look at the upcoming Disney•Pixar x Forever 21 collection

“From the catwalk in Shanghai to the sidewalk in New York, this new series sees YouTube’s biggest fashion stars explore what Disney style means around the globe,” said Josh Silverman, EVP Global Licensing at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “Fashion and pop culture collide in such creative ways, and it’s incredible how fans infuse their favorite Disney characters into daily looks to make a truly personal style statement.”

Destination: Disney Style launches on the Disney Style YouTube channel on Tuesday, August 2. The first episode features lifestyle and DIY YouTube star LaurDIY as she explores the fashion world in Tokyo including street style, the Tsum Tsum phenomenon, Disney Expo Japan 2016, Tokyo Disney Resort® and more. Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory Makes a Splash as Part of Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart

Disney•Pixar’s record-breaking animated feature Finding Dory makes a splash this September inDisney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart, produced by Feld Entertainment, Inc. The action-packed adventure also brings Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out to the icy stage for the first time, together with other beloved Disney characters. Tickets are on sale now for a number of markets across the United States.

Follow Your Heart allows families to join in on the deep-sea adventure as Dory comes off the screen and onto the ice. With help from Nemo, Marlin and new pal Hank, Dory embarks on a life-changing excursion. The engaging atmosphere of Disney On Ice allows Dory’s humor to take center stage deepening the audience’s existing connection to their favorite forgetful fish. The production will dive into the extraordinary underwater world from Finding Dory,as a vibrant rainbow of digital projection will transform the ice floor into a colorful aquatic paradise.

Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out makes its Disney On Ice debut as Riley’s Emotions –Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust– reel the audience into the action to help her find the confidence to win the hockey championship and to experience the emotional rollercoaster of growing up alongside Riley. Families are provided the opportunity to easily discuss the feelings children face every day through this live interpretation of Inside Out.

From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Fantasia to Toy Story and Frozen, Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart opens up the thrilling world of live entertainment by immersing families in an array of treasured stories. The athleticism of the performers shines through as they embody Rapunzel, Ariel, Tiana and the rest of the Disney Princesses, inspiring children around the world to dream big.

“One of the most magical things about Disney On Ice is the performers’ ability to authentically showcase the best qualities of Disney characters,” said Director Patty Vincent. “At our show, moms and dads are able to witness the production through the eyes of their children, allowing them to reconnect with their favorite characters and making them feel like a kid all over again.”

There’s something for everyone in a show that features 60 characters. The wintery world of Arendelle sets the stage for Olaf and Kristoff as they help reunite royal sisters Anna and Elsa and learn love is the most powerful magic of all. Audiences will celebrate friendship with Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and more pals from Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story. Disney’s food magic begins in the Flavor Lab

Dozens of new food and beverage creations will be on the menu at Disney World this summer, ranging from the spicy “El Diablo Burger” at D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs to a refined, ceviche-style octopus – served with artichokes, capers, Kalamata olives, tomatoes and a saffron aioli – at Tiffins, a much-anticipated upscale restaurant at Animal Kingdom.
