Christian Borle, Megan Hilty and Tom Cavanaugh Lead the Voice Cast of the Animated “Lucky Duck,” the First Disney Junior Original Movie

Broadway and television stars Christian Borle, Megan Hilty and Tom Cavanaugh lead the voice cast of the animated “Lucky Duck,” the first Disney Junior Original Movie. Geared towards kids age 2-7 and their families, the adventure at sea tells the story of a trio of misfit tub toys in search of the kids who will love them just the way they are. “Lucky Duck” premieres FRIDAY, JUNE 20 on Disney Junior (7:00 p.m., ET/PT) and SATURDAY, JUNE 21 on Disney Channel (9:00 a.m., ET/PT).

Kristin Chenoweth to play Maleficent in Disney’s original movie ‘Descendants’

Former Wicked witch Kristin Chenoweth has signed on to play Sleeping Beauty baddie Maleficent in Disney’s upcoming original movie Descendants, which follows the teenage children of Disney’s iconic heroes and villains (mainly the villains).

DISNEY JUNIOR’S “SOFIA THE FIRST” RECEIVES SIX DAYTIME EMMY AWARD NOMINATIONS

Disney Junior’s “Sofia the First,” the all-time record holder for the top two cable TV telecasts for kids 2-5, received six nominations for the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The nominations for the hit series, which follows the adventures of Disney’s first little girl princess, include the following:

Zendaya Stars in the Comedic Disney Channel Original Movie “Zapped,” Premiering Friday, June 27 on Disney Channel

Multi-talented recording artist/actress Zendaya (“Dancing with the Stars,” “Shake It Up”), headlines the comedic Disney Channel Original Movie “Zapped,” the story of Zoey, a girl whose well-ordered life is up-ended when her mother remarries and she finds herself part of a family composed of rambunctious, chaotic – and most of all – messy boys and a male dog, to boot. She finds salvation in the unlikeliest of places when she unwittingly comes into possession of a smartphone app that magically controls boys. Spencer Boldman (Disney XD’s “Lab Rats”) stars as Jackson, the one guy at school who stands apart from everyone else.

DISNEY CHANNEL SET TO BEGIN PRODUCTION ON “TEEN BEACH MOVIE 2,” THE SEQUEL TO THE HIT DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE

Disney Channel will begin production in July on “Teen Beach Movie 2,” the sequel to last summer’s “Teen Beach Movie,” a Disney Channel Original Movie that ranks as cable TV’s all-time #2 movie in Total Viewers. Ross Lynch (“Austin & Ally” and Hollywood Records’ R5), Maia Mitchell (“The Fosters”), Grace Phipps (“Baby Daddy”), Garrett Clayton (“The Fosters”) and John DeLuca (“Twisted”) will reprise their starring roles as Brady, McKenzie, Lela, Tanner and Butchy, respectively. Additional casting will be announced shortly. “Teen Beach Movie 2” will premiere in 2015 on Disney Channel.

The cast was reunited Saturday, April 26 at the Radio Disney Music Awards where the announcement was made during “ARDY’s Pre-Show Party,” which is now available on WATCH Disney Channel.

First Lady Michelle Obama Guest Stars on an Episode of “Jessie” that Celebrates Military Families, Premiering Friday, May 16 on Disney Channel

First Lady Michelle Obama guest stars in “Jessie,” the hit comedy series for kids and tweens, in a storyline that raises awareness about the service, sacrifice and needs of military families.
