“Rivers of Light” (2016) — “Rivers of Light” is an innovative experience unlike anything ever seen in a Disney park, combining live performances, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery. “Rivers of Light” will magically come to life on the natural stage of Discovery River, delighting guests and truly capping off a full day of adventures at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.

Pandora — The World of AVATAR (2017) —Disney in collaboration with filmmaker James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment is bringing to life the mythical world of Pandora, inspired by Cameron’s AVATAR, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. The awe-inspiring land of floating mountains, bioluminescent rainforests and soaring Banshees will give guests a transformational experience they will never forget.

AVATAR Flight of Passage (2017) – This E-ticket attraction, the centerpiece of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, will allow guests to soar on a Banshee over a vast alien world. The spectacular flying experience will give guests a birds-eye view of the beauty and grandeur of the world of Pandora on an aerial rite of passage.

Toy Story Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios — The reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios will take guests to infinity and beyond, allowing them to step into the worlds of their favorite films, starting with Toy Story Land. This new 11-acre land will transport guests into the adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard. Guests can experience two new attractions, including a family-friendly roller coaster on the back of Slinky Dog and an aliens saucer attraction. Toy Story Mania! will add a third track to the existing popular attraction.

Star Wars Themed-Land arriving at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Star Wars-themed land is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. Highlights feature two signature attractions, including the ability to take the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle.

Disney Springs (2016) — A unique destination that will treat guests to significantly more shopping, dining and entertainment amid beautiful open-air promenades, meandering springs and waterfront charm is currently underway. Disney Springs will feature an eclectic and contemporary mix from Disney and other noteworthy brands in a setting inspired by Florida’s waterfront towns and natural beauty. New retail shops coming to Disney Springs include Edward Beiner, Lilly Pulitzer, L’Occitane en Provence, PANDORA, Tommy Bahama, UGG, UNIQLO and Zara. Upcoming new dining locations include:

  • The Edison (2016) – A lavish “Industrial Gothic”-style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination that will feature exceptional classic American food, artisanal craft cocktails and unparalleled live entertainment.
  • Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza (2016)  Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza is a modern day “pizza joint” known for its custom-built artisanal pizzas, freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s’more pies.

PREVIEW SCENES FROM DISNEY’S ALL-NEW ‘PETE’S DRAGON’ FOR A LIMITED TIME STARTING JULY 1 AT DISNEY PARKS

Beginning July 1, 2016, guests will be able to catch a preview of scenes from Disney’s all-new “Pete’s Dragon” during a sneak peek at Disney California Adventure® Park at Disneyland® Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® at Walt Disney World® Resort.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the preview of “Pete’s Dragon” will be presented as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction, while Guests at Disney California Adventure Park will get to see this advance look at clips from the film in 3D with special in-theater effects at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land.

A reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film, “Pete’s Dragon” is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon. “Pete’s Dragon” opens in theaters in 3D on Aug. 12, 2016.

21st Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Launches New Resort Experiences and Welcomes Celebrity Chef Participants

A new lineup of popular celebrity chefs and a series of first-time Disney resort cooking and dining experiences will add fresh culinary appeal to the 21st Epcot International Food & Wine Festival presented by Chase at Walt Disney World Resort.

The annual Disney tour of tastes from six continents, running 62 days from Sept. 14-Nov. 14, has become one of America’s top food festivals and features inspired flavors at more than 30 global marketplaces. For the second consecutive year, ABC’s Emmy Award-winning lifestyle series, “The Chew,” will arrive to produce a full week of programs on the show’s exclusive Epcot festival stage.

  • Culinary notables Geoffrey Zakarian, Maneet Chauhan, Duff Goldman, Elliott Farmer, Masaharu Morimoto and Graham Elliot will step up to the stove to host their first festival special events such as seminars and culinary demonstrations. Other chef icons like Robert Irvine, Cat Cora, Norman Van Aken, Elizabeth Falkner, Buddy Valastro and Jamie Deen will return in 2016 to entertain foodies and inspire their palates at premium events that include Party for the Senses grand tastings featuring reimagined entertainment.
  • First-time festival resort experiences include Brunch with a Twist at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa; Culinary Adventures with a Master Chef for a hands-on chef’s table experience in a professional working kitchen; The Secret of Flavor three-course lunch that gives guests a “sensory-food connection” at Yachtsman Steakhouse; and a tropical “Zombie” encounter during Behind the Scenes at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
  • “Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It!” hands-on workshops at the Festival Center will offer guests a chance to learn a variety of culinary skills from chefs, bakers, mixologists and other pros.
  • For a second year, global marketplaces will extend into Future World to offer a wider range of taste sensations. New this year will be: The Chew Collective in the Next Eats area of Future World; the Wine & Dine Studio and Chocolate Studio, also in Future World; plus Islands of the Caribbean marketplace in World Showcase.

Festival guests can pair wines, beers and ciders with savory and sweet dishes as they stroll the World Showcase Promenade using their complimentary festival passports as a guide.

New marketplace menus debut and festival favorites return – Hard soda float, anyone? Guests can choose a favorite hard soda to mix with vanilla ice cream for a sweet treat at Desserts & Champagne marketplace. A savory vegan dish will debut at the Greece marketplace, and the popular Farm Fresh marketplace will showcase Florida’s bounty with new savory dishes. Up to 47 percent of the menu food items are new or reimagined dishes.

Multiple new Eat to the Beat concert acts debut; fan favorites return to play 186 festival concerts, in all –Wang Chung (Everybody Have Fun Tonight!) will open the Eat to the Beat concert series Sept. 14-15. More new acts in the concert series lineup, including Delta Rae and Toad The Wet Sprocket – will rock their chart-topping tunes. Other popular acts, including Wilson Phillips, Boyz II Men and Jeffrey Osbourne, will return to the America Gardens Theatre stage this fall.

Celebrity chefs, wine experts and mixologists join the fun – Celebrities ranging from Rock Harper to master sommelier Andrea Robinson will share their food and beverage know-how during culinary demos, beverage seminars and a variety of other events spanning the festival’s 62 days.

The popular Festival Private Label California Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are back and available by the bottle or by the glass.

Ratatouille returns — Chef Remy of “Ratatouille” returns with his fun-for-the-family culinary scavenger hunt that features six brand-new collectible pins this year.

Festival Center cooks on all burners –Festival Center highlights will include new festival merchandise, the complimentary Back to Basics weekend series featuring epicurean tips and tricks from the pros, book and bottle signings and The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar, hosted by Ghirardelli and offering guest samples.

Plan for a premium adventure:

  • Rockin’ Burger Block Party and Party for the Senses grand tasting events will showcase creative bites and palate-pleasing sips from eminent chefs and beverage experts plus new live entertainment.
  • Intimate dining and tasting events to book will include the “Umami” Tokyo Pairing and other Epcot restaurant experiences as well as multi-course lunches and dinners at Disney Springs and resort restaurants.

 Rest and recharge at the Chase Lounge – Chase debit and credit card members – including Disney Visa card members — will find complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments, a charging station and comfortable seating for a relaxing break at the Chase Lounge at American Adventure.

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Moving Locations

Beginning July 10, 2016, the party will take place inside Star Wars Launch Bay. Guests will then be escorted to an outdoor VIP viewing section for Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular 15 minutes prior to the show.

UNIQLO to Open Its First Store in the Southeast U.S.A. at Disney Springs, Florida, on July 15

UNIQLO today announced that it will open its newest location in the U.S. on July 15 in Disney Springs, at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The new UNIQLO store, the first in the Southeast region of the United States, will occupy 25,000 square feet (2,300 square meters) across two sales floors and showcase the brand’s full assortment of LifeWear – innovative, high-quality clothing that is universal in design and comfort – as well as items that incorporate its Japanese heritage. The new location will give families from all around the world an innovative and unforgettable retail experience, as well as feature an assortment of Disney-inspired products.

“We are very excited to introduce our UNIQLO products, customer service and shopping experience to Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort,” said Hiroshi Taki, CEO of UNIQLO USA. “We are proud of our collaboration with Disney Consumer Products, and we look forward to offering our unique retail concept and products to vacationers and locals alike at Disney Springs. We hope to make every day at our store feel like opening day for our customers.”

The core products, innovative fabrics and technologies that will be available from UNIQLO at Disney Springs include items like Ultra Light Down, HEATTECH, and AIRism, as well as Premium Linen, Denim, and Supima Cotton.

In addition to exclusive UNIQLO merchandise, the new store will incorporate the brand’s unique Japanese heritage by conveying Japanese tradition, culture and beauty through colorful visuals and displays. Japanese-inspired daily giveaways, as well as in-store events each week and month like Taiko drummers and a Japanese-style game show, will provide fun and entertaining ways for families to engage with UNIQLO and its Japanese origins.

UNIQLO at Disney Springs will be the company’s first store in the Southeast region, and it marks the company’s fourth corner in the country, with its 43 current stores including Los Angeles, Seattle and Boston, and its UNIQLO.com online store.

“Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” is now playing daily in the Hyperion Theater in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure® Park. And, if guests would like to take their viewing experience to the next level, reservations are now open for three pre-show packages that include priority seating at select performances plus special experiences before and even after the show.

The Frozen Pre-Show Package lets guests chill with family and friends while enjoying refreshments, photo opportunities and more at a festive, “Frozen”-themed celebration before the live show. This one-of-a-kind gathering commences inside Stage 17, transformed into a castle courtyard in the wintry world of Arendelle with “Frozen” delights sprinkled all around, including a shave ice treat. When the magical reception winds down, guests will be whisked off to the nearby Hyperion Theater and land in their priority seats. The Frozen Pre-Show Plus Lunch Package includes the pre-show experience and priority seating, plus a delicious dining experience at Carthay Circle Restaurant.
