Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney® were both recognized as “Best for Families” in the 11th annual Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards. The global team of Cruise Critic editors recognize the top companies in the cruise industry based on first-hand experience and industry knowledge. This is Disney Cruise Line’s fifth year to be recognized with this award and Adventures by Disney’s third consecutive win!

You may have also heard that Newsweek, one of America’s most iconic news magazines, also named Disney Cruise Line as No. 1 overall in its inaugural 2019 list of America’s Best Companies for Customer Service. Newsweek based its ranking on a survey of more than 20,000 U.S. customers with criteria such as customer focus and likelihood of recommending the service.

Disney Cruise Line began creating magical vacations for families in 1998 with its first ship, the Disney Magic and has since added the Disney Wonder, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Three more ships are on the way in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Adventures by Disney provides immersive, hassle-free group guided vacation experiences to destinations on six continents, including river cruises within Europe.

The biggest birthday celebration on the high seas is coming to Disney Cruise Line next summer, as we celebrate Mickey’s 90th with Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea!

In the summer of 2019, we will add yet another deck party to our entertainment lineup onboard Disney Cruise Line. You already know and love our Sail-away Celebration, where we jumpstart their vacation with an upbeat dance party, while our “Pirates in the Caribbean” show and dance party gives them the chance to party like a pirate, complete with an industry-first fireworks finale. And now, we are adding an afternoon deck party exclusively on the Disney Fantasy – and it’s all about celebrating the man of the hour himself, Mickey Mouse!

Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea is a celebration that will take place one afternoon on the Disney Fantasy’spopular seven-night itineraries. You can join favorite Disney characters for some fun in the sun as they celebrate Mickey’s 90th in style, complete with special costumes and a song made just for the occasion – “It’s a Good Time.”

And of course, what birthday party would be complete without food! This celebration is all about Mickey, and the food is no exception – you will enjoy Mickey ice cream bars and Mickey pretzels, while a specialty drink in a cup shaped like (you guessed it!) Mickey will be offered.

That is just the beginning of the fun to come at Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea, as there will be many more surprises in store next summer on the Disney Fantasy!

This marks the sixth consecutive year that Disney Cruise Line has received top honors from U.S. News & World Report, an authoritative publisher of rankings for everything from health and personal finance, to education, travel and transportation.

The annual cruise line rankings identify the best cruise lines in a variety of categories based on a methodology that factors in overall cruise ship quality, reputation among travelers, health assessments and many other factors, such as price class and general itinerary offerings.

In 2019, Disney Cruise Line guests will be the first to meet Captain Marvel when she makes her debut during Marvel Day at Sea. For the first time ever, guests will encounter one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe as part of an action-packed, day-long celebration aboard select Disney Magic sailings departing Jan. 6 through March 8 from Miami.

Captain Marvel joins the event’s awesome line-up of Super Heroes and villains, including Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Loki, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and more. In addition to these heroic encounters, Marvel Day at Sea features an extraordinary deck show spectacular, themed youth activities, special merchandise, and unique food and beverage offerings.

We’re proud to share that  Disney Cruise Line was named No. 1 “Large Cruise Line” in the 2018 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. This is the seventh year in a row that readers have chosen us as their cruise line of choice!

These awards have extra special meaning to us because they come directly from the readers, many who have sailed with us multiple times. More than 429,000 readers cast their votes in this year’s annual survey.

Every Disney ship features a nighttime entertainment district with sophisticated lounges, casual pubs and trendy nightclubs reserved exclusively for adults. What makes Cruise Critic’s Cruisers’ Choice Destination Awards so exciting is that the awards are given based exclusively on consumer ratings and reviews posted to the Cruise Critic website over the past year.
