Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend Celebrates 2nd Annual Event with Over 20,000 Runners

Disneyland Paris Resort welcomed more than 20,000 runners for the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend on September 21-24. The event marked the second annual race weekend to take place at Disneyland Paris Resort bringing out a crowd of dedicated participants that spanned ages one to 82.

The weekend kicked off with the Disneyland Paris 5K which took place this year under the Parisian night sky for the first time. Also new this year was the Disneyland Paris 10K that took runners through the Disneyland Paris Resort and was filled with plenty of Disney entertainment. With the addition of this 6.2-mile course, the bravest runners conquered the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Challenge, combining the 10K and half marathon races.

The race weekend concluded on Sunday when runners from across the globe raced through the enchanting lands of Disneyland Paris Resort and the picturesque French countryside during the Disneyland Paris – Val d’Europe Half Marathon

Disney Cruise Line Itinerary Update

In order to enable the British and U.S. Virgin Islands the appropriate time to recover from the effects of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, Disney has altered the itinerary for the Oct. 21 and Nov. 4, 2017 Disney Fantasy sailings to include ports in the Western Caribbean. The revised itineraries are below.

  • Saturday – Port Canaveral
  • Sunday – Day at Sea
  • Monday – Cozumel, Mexico
  • Tuesday – George Town, Grand Cayman (tender port)
  • Wednesday – Falmouth, Jamaica
  • Thursday – Day at Sea
  • Friday – Castaway Cay, Bahamas
  • Saturday – Port Canaveral

Nov. 4, 2017

  • Saturday – Port Canaveral
  • Sunday – Day at Sea
  • Monday – Cozumel, Mexico
  • Tuesday – Costa Maya, Mexico

Port Adventures that guests pre-reserved in Tortola and St. Thomas will automatically be removed from your cruise activities, while those for Castaway Cay will remain as scheduled. Likewise, pre-reserved onboard activities like Palo Brunch, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and beverage tastings are being adjusted to fit this revised itinerary. Should guests wish to explore Port Adventure opportunities featured on this revised itinerary, please visit the My Cruise Activities section of our website at www.disneycruise.com this Friday, when all of the shore excursions and onboard activities are expected to be available on the site. The Walt Disney Company Donates $500,000 In Humanitarian Aid To Support Mexican Communities Impacted By Recent Earthquakes

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:  DIS) has committed $500,000 to aid in humanitarian relief efforts across Central Mexico in response to the recent earthquakes impacting the region.  The donation will support the disaster response and recovery efforts of the Mexican Red Cross, Save the Children, and UNICEF. Disney will make additional donations of in-kind goods as needs are identified.

“As our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Mexico, we are once again overwhelmed by the resiliency and unity shown in response to a natural disaster,” said Claudio Chiaromonte, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, The Walt Disney Company Latin America. “Disney has a long tradition of supporting communities all over the world, and we are proud to join with the people of Mexico as they begin to recover and rebuild from these terrible tragedies.”

The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates employ more than 250 people in Mexico, between its Disney offices and the ESPN Deportes network, and Disney has a long-standing history in the region dating back to the 1940s.

Disney works on an ongoing basis with numerous nonprofit organizations on emergency preparedness efforts, including sharing lifesaving information with families before and during emergencies, having supplies prepositioned and at-the-ready to respond to natural disasters, and providing resources to activate large-scale responses in the event of a disaster.

The Epcot® International Festival of the Arts, Disney’s most all-inclusive celebration of the arts, returns for its second sensational year at Walt Disney World® Resort Jan. 12- Feb. 19, 2018. During this event, guests can experience an exciting extravaganza replete with phenomenal artists, gourmet fare, musical performances, stage productions and other amazing acts.

New for 2018, the Festival will remain open 7 days a week, with various entertainment offerings planned each weekend.

HOW THE SCIENCE OF SPACE EXPLORATION INFLUENCES DISNEY STORYTELLING
