We know that guests older than two years old will have to wear face coverings (masks) while at the Disney Parks and resorts for the foreseeable future so we wanted to take a look at some tips to help make the best of the process.

1. Take Multiple Masks to the parks each day – This is one that most people will overlook. Don’t be that person. It will be hot this summer (and rainy) and your masks, no matter how lightweight, will get wet from sweat and rain. Make sure to bring along several each day so you can rotate out to a dry one as needed.
2. Have masks that are comfortable & adjustable – the majority of masks have elastic bands, which while convenient, tend to rub behind the ears after many hours of wear. Some masks have straps instead that can be tied behind the head which may provide better relief for some guests. There are also “connectors” that people seek to remove the rub behind the ears for elastic band masks
3. Lip Balm – this should probably be my #1 because I seem to always need lip balm while at the Disney Parks when I’m NOT wearing a mask. With that being said, it’s a good bet that your lips will be dry if you are wearing a face mask all day so make sure to pack your favorite lip balm and help keep your lips hydrated.
4. Get some masks that are cool looking for photos – how many of us thought, “I can’t wait to get my photo taken in a mask around the Disney Parks?” Since this is the new reality why not make the most of it….and look at it as a unique photo opportunity (hopefully is never needed again in our lifetime). At some point in the future, we can look back at the summer of 2020 and go through all our photos around the parks in our various masks and think how cool it was to have photos like this. What’s better than having unique styles to wear and get photographed in? How about a selfie in a Star Wars mask with the Millennium Falcon in the background while in Galaxy’s Edge? Or a Cinderella mask in front of the castle? How about an ‘it’s a small world’ mask in front of….ok maybe not that one but you get the point.
   

I know this is a touchy subject and many will choose to wait it out to return until the face covering issue is removed. For those who will be going to the Disney parks, I think these are some of the things that can help make it a better experience for us all. During this time of uncertainty, we want to provide your clients and their family with even more flexibility. Because your clients’ sailing was cancelled due to COVID-19, they were previously offered the choice of either a future cruise credit* equal to 25%, 125% or 150% of their original voyage fare to be used within 15 months of their original sailing or a full refund. We are now extending the use of their future cruise credit to sailings that depart by March 31, 2022. 

The credit has been automatically added to your clients’ account. For clients with a 125% or 150% future cruise credit, you may place a reservation on hold by applying it as a payment option when booking a new reservation online beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2020. For your clients with a 25% future cruise credit, you may apply it as a payment option beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Once your clients’ modified reservation is paid in full, any remaining future cruise credit will be applied to their shipboard account as a non-refundable onboard credit.
