“Re-Discovering America: Family Treasures from the Kinsey Collection” brings to Epcot important African heritage art from the collection of philanthropists Bernard and Shirley Kinsey, of Los Angeles. Epcot guests are treated to rare art, documents, books and artifacts amassed over the lifetimes of the Kinseys and spanning more than 400 years of African-American achievement and contribution.
Approximately 40 pieces from their collection are on view on a rotating basis during the open-ended run of the exhibit, at the American Adventure Pavilion. Touchscreens and guest-activated lanterns with narration by Whoopi Goldberg, Diane Sawyer and other celebrities help bring the history to life.
The exhibit follows five themes including Courage and Imagination. “Re-Discovering America: Family Treasures from the Kinsey Collection” is included in Epcot admission. Walt Disney World Resort is in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
