Play Disney Parks Mobile App Includes Música En Español!

Today we’re excited to share that a  new playlist has been added to the Play Disney Parks app, featuring music in Spanish.

The new “Disney en Español” playlist is available in the app at Epcot®, specifically at the Mexico Pavilion. Guests can listen to songs from Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” and other Disney movies and shows, all in en español!

So how does this work? When you are using the app, they’ll see that each park has a map and within it, a music icon. They can click on that and like Disney magic, an Apple Music playlist will come up from each of the parks with dedicated lists throughout various areas within the park. For example, when Guests are in Epcot, they need to make sure they click on the icon that is on the Mexico Pavilion so they can listen to the playlist.

You will be able to preview the music on the playlist with a thirty-second sample of each song, and new users can even sign up for a free three-month trial from within the app and enjoy full-length versions of their favorite Disney songs.

Guests can also listen to this playlist at home when they are getting ready for their vacación to Walt Disney World Resort or even after they return from their trip!

To use the Play Disney Parks app and listen to the “Disney en Español” playlist on Apple Music, you can download the app from the App Store!

Digital Key Feature in My Disney Experience App Expands to Additional Disney Resort Hotels

Over the last several months, we’ve received great feedback from Guests using the recently launched vacation tools in the My Disney Experience app – from shopping for merchandise and mobile ordering food to checking into our Disney Resort hotels on-the-go and viewing bus times.

One of these exciting new features includes the ability for Guests to use their Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phone to unlock their hotel room door. This represents another seamless room-entry option for your Clients to use, in addition to theirMagicBands. This technology made its initial debut at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge earlier this year, and this week, we are completing its rollout to Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World® Resort, including Disney Vacation Club properties.

Using a digital key can help add convenience and flexibility to your stay, whether they simply prefer the look and feel of their mobile phone, or if they need a backup option after accidentally locking themselves out of their room (it happens to the best of us). The feature was designed with a distinctly Disney touch, and if you listen closely, they’ll hear the sound of pixie dust filling the air as their hotel door opens.

Guests can also use their digital key to unlock the hotel entrance gate and common area doors requiring a key, which may include fitness centers, elevators and club level lounges. And arriving travel parties that have checked in online may even use their digital key to bypass the front desk, similar to what they are able to do with the MagicBand, giving them the opportunity to go directly to their room when it is ready and start their vacation even faster.

Each Guest staying in the room with a My Disney Experience account may opt-in and activate the feature on their check-in day through a brief set up process in the app. To enter their room, guests tap the “Unlock Door” button and then simply hold their phone against the door lock.

This is the latest in the evolution of keyless room entry, which began with the MagicBand, the unique all-in-one device that allows you to effortlessly access the plans and vacation choices you’ve made in My Disney Experience. Guests can choose to use either or both options for room entry throughout their trip, but please remember to wear their MagicBand for all other uses, including park entry, FastPass+ redemption, linking Disney PhotoPass images and more.

Be sure to download the latest version of My Disney Experience today for iOS or Android to opt-in and activate their digital key during their Disney Resort hotel stay and discover all of the other great features in the app.

First-Of-Its-Kind ‘Play Disney Parks’ Mobile App Debuts at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort

Guests can explore the Disney theme parks like never before with the Play Disney Parks mobile app, a transformative new digital entertainment offering that made its official debut on June 30 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

The Play Disney Parks app will bring to life unique interactive experiences that enable guests of all ages to access a wide range of activities including themed games, Disney trivia, digital achievements, music and so much more – whether they are playing on Main Street, U.S.A. or waiting in line at beloved attractions.

Developed in close collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering, Play Disney Parks was designed for families and guests to enjoy together, with group play options that enable everyone to join in on the fun while staying fully engaged in the immersive environments of Disney parks. The app will be available for iOS and Android platforms and will be free to download.

“Play Disney Parks represents the next step in how we use innovative digital technology to enhance the guest experience in our parks,” said Vivek Sharma, Senior Vice President of Digital Guest Experience and eCommerce for Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products. “The app is designed to help guests immerse themselves in the Disney stories they know and love in a whole new way.”

Turn Wait Time into Play Time

With an imaginative set of in-queue games, wait time will turn into play time at select in-park locations as guests play games that interact with the physical environment around them – from activating special show effects to uncovering magical surprises during their experience.

Joy-filled experiences and quests can be found throughout the four theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort and the two theme parks at Disneyland Resort, including discovering happy thoughts with Tinker Bell before setting sail on Peter Pan’s Flight, embarking on galactic training missions prior to boarding Space Mountain and even playing a whimsical series of mini-games with Buzz, Woody and the “Toy Story” gang at new Disney·Pixar areas opening this summer:

  • Walt Disney World Resort: At the soon-to-be-unveiled Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests can extend their play time at the new Slinky Dog Dash coaster with “Andy’s Board Game Blast,” a fun game that Andy has crafted in his backyard from some spare toys, cardboard boxes and his own imagination. Guests visiting this new land will also be able to experience “Playset Party,” a game in which they help assemble the Toy Story Mania! playset.
  • Disneyland Resort: At the newly reimagined Pixar Pierin Disney California Adventure, guests can also experience “Playset Party” while progressing through the queue of Toy Story Mania! and preparing to take a spin on this guest-favorite attraction.

Earn Themed Achievements

Guests signed into their Disney account, available to guests 13 and over, can also earn, collect and share uniquely themed achievements, rewarded for experiences both in the app and across the Disney parks. Whether venturing to certain attractions in the parks or accomplishing an impressive feat at an in-queue game, guests are able to use this feature to showcase their in-park experiences and Disney fandom while filling their “Playfile” with these special achievements.

Listen to the Songs and Sounds of Disney

Guests will be able to celebrate their Disney vacation with an enchanting audio experience featuring the music of Disney and the classic sounds of the Disney theme parks. Before, after or during their next visit, guests can listen to Apple Music in the Play Disney Parks app to access curated playlists inspired by beloved lands, attractions and characters – and some favorite memories too.*

Uncover Disney Trivia and Fun Facts

Through the Disney trivia feature, guests can band together before, during or after their visit to see if they have what it takes to become Disney trivia masters as they discover fun facts about their favorite theme parks.

The new Play Disney Parks app is the latest addition to the Disney Parks digital app portfolio. Play Disney Parks complements the popular My Disney Experience app at Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland App at Disneyland Resort, the convenient places for guests to plan their visit, access important information such as attraction wait times and park hours and utilize services like mobile food ordering.

And this is just the beginning. Play Disney Parks is planned to grow and evolve over time with new experiences and offerings at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, including at the eagerly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, coming to Disneyland Resort in summer 2019 and Walt Disney World Resort in late fall 2019. For the latest updates, follow the dedicated Play Disney Parks app pages – Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort  – as well as the #PlayDisneyParks hashtag on social media.

Disney’s Online Check-in Now Available on My Disney Experience App

It’s been incredible to see the Guest experience transform here over the past four years since Disney first launched My Disney Experience in 2013. From the FastPass+ service to MagicBand 2 and Mobile Order, they’re always exploring new opportunities to make guests’ Walt Disney World® Resort vacation even more convenient and more magical.

Earlier this year, Disney unveiled a redesigned My Disney Experience app with new features that spoke to Guests’ desire for an easier way to access all of their vacation plans. Today, we’re excited to bring yet another feature to the app: Online Check-In.

When guests stay at a Disney Resort hotel, they will be able to use Disney’s Online Check-In service on the My Disney Experience mobile app, expediting their arrival while providing additional convenience, flexibility and customization of their experience. The feature enables guests to start the check-in process up to 60 days before their arrival, bypassing the need to visit the front desk and giving them the opportunity to begin their vacation as soon as they set foot in Walt Disney World Resort. Guests complete their check-in by unlocking their room, when it is ready, using the MagicBands sent to them prior to their arrival.

With just a few taps of the screen, guests can make room requests, add credit card information and authorize charges, submit an estimated arrival time to help prompt room access, receive a notification when their room is ready and more. Please note that room requests are not guaranteed and Guests must provide consent to receive notifications.

The best part? Guests can begin the check-in process at any point up to 60 days prior to your arrival date – even minutes beforehand as they’re transported on Disney’s Magical Express to their resort hotel.

As always, world-class Guest service is part of the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and front desk and concierge cast members are available at all of our resort hotels to assist guests at their leisure for the duration of their stay.

To take advantage of the Online Check-In service and other features, be sure you download the latest version of My Disney Experience, now available in the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices.
