Mother & Daughter dressed like Disney Princesses Banned from Disneyland Paris

When Natasha Narula treated daughter Drew to a holiday at Disneyland Paris, she thought it would be fun to dress up as princesses for the day.

The pharmacy worker bought a ‘silly, puffy sleeved’ old wedding dress from an Oxfam shop for £20 and kitted eight-year-old Drew out in a white and gold bridesmaid dress  which she had kept from a family wedding, teamed with a tiara.

But the magic of Disney did not extend to staff at the park’s entrance, who told Miss Narula she would not be admitted in her outfit because her dress and Rapunzel-style hairpiece made her look too much like a Disney princess.

I think it’s ok for kids to be princesses, pirates, princes, etc to a certain age point but adults are a different story. I could see an adult dressing up if it was a special event that the park was holding but other than that not really. I could see why the staff would be concerned that an adult dressed as a princess, pirate, muppet, etc could confuse other kids in the park.

Judging from the photo, I could see how the mom’s outfit might confuse young kids but the daughter looked fine.

The staff could have handled the situation better in a less harsh manner; and the staff member the mother talked to on the phone should have done their job better and told the mom that only the kids could dress up.
