Disney Channel’s ‘Jessie’ Spinoff Gets Title, Rounds Out Cast

Disney Channel has settled on a title for its Jessie spinoff. BUNK’D begins production later this month for premiere in summer 2015. The network also has rounded out the cast, adding newcomers Miranda May, Nina Lu and Kevin Quinn.

ROWAN BLANCHARD AND SABRINA CARPENTER, STARS OF HIT SERIES “GIRL MEETS WORLD,” CAST IN UPCOMING DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIES

13 year-old Rowan Blanchard and 15 year-old Sabrina Carpenter (of Disney Channel’s hit comedy series “Girl Meets World”) and 16 year-old Paris Berelc (of Disney XD’s “Mighty Med”) and Sofia Carson (of this year’s highly anticipated Disney’s “Descendants”) will each add an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie to their credits this year, as the Channel continues its focus on developing young entertainers and giving them opportunities to showcase their talent across multiple projects.

The movies will be part of Disney Media Sales and Marketing presentations to potential sponsors during the Kids Upfront this year.

Rowan Blanchard and Paris Berelc will star in the live-action adventure/comedy “Invisible Sister.”

“MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND,” DISNEY JUNIOR’S INTERGALACTIC ADVENTURE SERIES, BLASTS OFF FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

Disney Junior’s “Miles from Tomorrowland,” an intergalactic adventure series, blasts off FRIDAY FEBRUARY 6 on Disney Channel (9:00 a.m., ET/PT). Launching with four back-to-back episodes, it incorporates unique space and science facts into the storylines that chart the outer space missions of young adventurer Miles Callisto and his family as they help connect the galaxy on behalf of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

The series follows the explorations of Miles and his family – mom and ship captain, Phoebe; mechanical engineer dad, Leo; tech-savvy big sister, Loretta; and best friend pet robo-ostrich, Merc. Together, they explore new galaxies filled with peculiar aliens, space-age vehicles and high-tech gadgets, taking young viewers and their families on a futuristic journey designed to fuel kids’ natural interest in space and at the same time reminding them of the importance of what lies close to home – the family bond.

Olivia Munn (“The Newsroom”) stars as Phoebe Callisto alongside Cullen McCarthy (“Mr. Peabody & Sherman”) as Miles Callisto, Tom Kenny (“SpongeBob SquarePants”) as Leo Callisto, Fiona Bishop (Disney Junior’s “Sofia the First”) as Loretta Callisto, and Dee Bradley Baker (Disney’s “Phineas and Ferb”) as Merc. Recurring guest stars include Adrian Grenier (“Entourage”) as Captain Joe, Mark Hamill (“Star Wars”) as Gadfly, George Takei (“Star Trek”) as Spectryx, Bill Nye (“Bill Nye the Science Guy”) as Professor Rubicon, Wil Wheaton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”) as Commander S’leet, Alton Brown (“Good Eats”) as Lysander Floovox, and Brenda Song (“Dads”) as Aunt Frida.

TEEN SUPERSTAR ZENDAYA STARS IN “K.C. UNDERCOVER,” A SPY-COMEDY SERIES FOR KIDS, TWEENS AND FAMILIES, PREMIERING SUNDAY, JANUARY 18 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

Multi-talented actress and recording artist Zendaya (ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” Disney Channel’s long-running hit “Shake It Up”) stars in and also co-produces “K.C. Undercover,” a live-action spy-comedy series for kids, tweens and families, premiering SUNDAY, JANUARY 18 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The premiere episode will be available on WATCH Disney Channel at midnight THURSDAY, JANUARY 1, allowing both verified and new WATCH Disney platform users to watch via their desktop, mobile and connected TV devices that day. The series was created by Corinne Marshall (“Surviving Jack,” “Suburgatory”) and is executive-produced by Rob Lotterstein (“Shake It Up”).
